| #1 Posted on 13.2.03 0149.03 Reposted on: 13.2.10 0149.18 | I really hope that by the time SKeith wanders in here, he's already heard this about 15 times today because maybe the 16th time he'll either remember it or stop pretending he knows what he's talking about [1] and just pass on questions. Not that this is the most erronous lucha related post on 411 in the last week [2]
Tope: The wrestler executing this move will grab on to the top rope and swing over the ropes and onto his opponent with a cross bodyblock
Nope.
Plancha: To execute this, a wrestler will dive between the middle rope and top ropes onto an opponent standing outside the ring
Nope.
Tope con helo: To execute this, a wrestler will run up the ropes, dive outside the ring and flip onto his shaken foe
Nope.
Plancha con helo: Same as a plancha, but the wrestler will also do a flip before crashing into his foe
Nope.
Pescado: It's similar to the plancha, except to execute this move correctly, a wrestler must hurdle the top rope and use a cross-bodyblock on his opponent
Nope. 0-5! Scott even calls this right sometimes, so there's no reason he should've reprinted the wrong answer, except for total lazyiness
La Tapatia: Similar to the "surfboard" submission hold, except the victim is lifted high into the air {aka the Rito Romero special}
Yay! He got one!
Caballo: Another name for the "camel clutch" perfected by Gory Guerrero
TWO.
You know how long it would have taken Scott to get the right answers? Search "lucha libre tope" on Google, click on the first site that pops up. La Arena IS your best Lucha information source (it even has PICTURES that I probably should stop STEALING) and if Scott - or the reader who mailed in the question - bothered to take the 10 seconds it takes to do a search, they'd have the right answers.
This screwing up should prevent him from calling out anyone for screwing up moves for a month or so but somehow...nah.
You know, since you can already get his big opinions for free, and anyone paying attention notices that getting all the details right isn't a high priority...well, the case isn't strong to buy a book filled with detailed backing up his big opinions. But maybe that's me.
[1] - see: "They're paranoid of another lawsuit, but basically the Fund is watching them at all times now to make sure they blur it. It should be noted that the blurring only applies to the "scratch" logo used from 1998-2002. Anything before 97 is fair game to use." - so they pulled WWE Superstars Classic in UK from the early 90's because of all the Scratch logos? Any WWF symbol is apparently forbidden, which the smallest bit of research could've pulled out.
[2] - If you follow CMLL, Click Here and count up the newsbits that are completely untrue. I think I got 4 but I kinda rolled my eyes and moved on quick. | Promote this thread! | | Scotsman

I sincerely hope that is a pathetic attempt at humor on your part.

Golly - that's probably the FIRST time someone has ever used the words "pathetic attempt at humor" while talking to Scotsman! | Pool-Boy
