Come on -- The WWE had what -- three, four hours, tops to do a tribute to Hennig?
RAW did suck the big wazoo, but don't hit them for a Photoshop special in the time frame. I would expect at least something on Confidential, for sure, but I think you were a little harsh on them for that. Hell, that was the least of my worries for the show.
I mean, "The Show Must Go On" according to Vince was in full effect last night -- HLA, VKM's ass... yeesh. Promote this thread! | | mountinman44

A poorly done tribute would have attracted a hell of a lot more flak from all quarters, particularly if it was aired on the night of his death. | rspwfaq

I'm looking for something with actual FEELING behind it, rather than the usual antiseptic "Throw up a cheap graphic and the Show Must Go On" nonsense we always get from them.

Thats something that could take a few days to put together. But a mention at the opening of Raw would have been easy. | Zeruel

if he was a current active performer, like owen was, i would expect something more, not a whole show, but something more.
he was not on the active roster, so i expected at the LEAST an opening graphic about it. | DJ FrostyFreeze

I'm sure we'll see a tribute on Confidential soon. The guy has been in and out of the WWF/E since like 1982 for crying out loud. | Faggot

| #13 Posted on 12.2.03 0453.58 Reposted on: 12.2.10 0455.24 | I'm a Hennig fan and I'm more then okay with what they did on Raw. I mean this came totally out of left field and adding that they are on the left coast and all, they really didn't have time to do much more.
I do think the full 10 bell salute and the full roster showing their respects should be left for someone passing away while in the current roster. And lets pray to God, we don't have to see that again.
I'm sure they are going to do a tribute on Confidential like they did with Davey Boy.
I got to get this off my chest. Curt Hennig just died does it really matter how many times Jim Ross or somebody drops his name during a broadcast. Or if it's a still picture or a slow-mo footage at the opening, get your priorities straight. None of that stuff is all that important, one of my favorite wrestlers died and I'm saddened, they brought it to our attention and that's all they needed to do. Seeing people nit pick over stuff like that reminds me going to the funeral and noticing and caring on who brought the best flowers. | CRZ

Sometimes, you couldn't miss it!
I'm with rikidozan - he wasn't a member of the active roster so that's really all you should expect from the WWE. I would speculate that MAYBE by next weekend's "Confidential" something could be put together and aired, but we won't be seeing Hennig on TV on SmackDown!, that's for sure. (Of course, I could check the spoilers before I make such a grandiose statement of potential jackassery but naaaaaah) | PowerPB13

To a crowd of around 300 people no less. If that show can go on then I wouldn't expect Vince to make any changes to his either. In fact I don't expect any kind of video tribute for Hennig on Raw or Smackdown. Like many of you said, they will probably devote a Confidential show to him. | CRZ

They didn't have anything on Smackdown. I hadn't said anything about it, though I constantly wonder why people expect better out of a company that has shown no reason to provoke those expectations.
I did hear they'll have a tribute segment on Confidential or something.

They've given pretty nice tributes in the past, pretty recently actually. Now I know they obviously havent done anything like that for Hennig yet, but I'm not sure I see why it was wrong for people to expect them to. | PowerPB13

Of course, when you've got a huge roster of some of the best talent in the world, I suppose it's only RIGHT to expect a blowaway show each time out, but they seem unable to produce that.
