I think you're greatly underestimating the suck factor of Rollerball.

If by some chance Adam Sandler somehow snuck out an Oscar nomination for Punch-Drunk love, I wonder if he would be the first person up for a Razzie and an Oscar in the same year.

I'm sure you can probably think a bunch of other incredibly terrible movies last year other than Rollerball or the movies that got razzy nominations. But I have to say most of the razzie noms this year hit it pretty well. However, I'd rather have Hayden Christensen as worst actor instead of Segal or Adam Sandler. However isn't it funny that Sandler will get a razzie mr. deeds, but probably get an MTV movie award or some other crap like that for best actor in Mr. Deeds. If only they fully televised the Razzies, because at this point I'm more interested to watch those than the academy awards. Hey when's the last time the academy awards has been good?

I think Walken has the better chance. He's a top contender for Best Supporting Actor for Catch Me If You Can

As dissapointing as Attack of the Clones was, it wasn't THAT bad. Certainly not up to the level of any of the movies it's listed with.

I think Sandler was fairly charming in Mr. Deeds, though 8 Crazy Nights was worthless.

I also don't think any of the songs nominated deserve to be there. You can't really pan something JUST because it's pop. Neither of the Britney songs were god-awful (though "Not a Girl..." makes no sense, at least it's catchy). And while the Madonna song was a terrible Bond song, the song has some merit as vanilla dance song.

The thing I hate about awards like this are that they are just as manufactured as the movies they criticize. Just like every other kind bashing, the same movies get panned over and over and over until people just cave in and except that it must have been "bad".

Understanding the audience, movies like Mr. Deeds and Crossroads aren't bad movies. They're no masterpiece, no, but not every movie is supposed to be. I don't like a lot of critically acclaimed movies, but that doesn't mean I think that they should be up for "Worst Movie of the Year" awards, by any means. I don't understand why the feeling isn't reciprical. That's why I hate movie reviews. I understand that THEY don't like a movie, but will the intended audience like it?

The worst part of the nominations was that Dido got nominated. She doesn't deserve that.

You know, as hipster-fashionable as it is to bash "Star Wars" (the motion picture equivalent of the IWC pretending not to mark out for Hulk Hogan), did the people who make up these awards actually watch the movies in question, or do they just assume what would be the worst.

I mean, did anyone actually SEE "XXX"? And they're still saying there were worse movies than that last year? What about Dana Carvey's painfully unfunny "Master of Disguise"? What about a Worst Supporting Actor nod for Gollum's anti-matter, the JarJar-esque Dobby from the new Harry Potter movie? (Or, while you're at it, toss one to that obnoxious little red-haired "comic relief" kid.)

Oh well, I bet Tom Green shows up again.

EDIT: Oh, and as far as Worst Actor goes, The Rock got robbed. Believe it.

Now I did not see even one reviewer give a truly awful review to Crossroads, so I see Excal's point. But some of the movies on the list deserve it. Any Eddie M. movie deserved it (even Showtime which could and should have been so much better). Swept Away deserves a razzing. I haven't seen Pinocchio, but I have heard that it was panned worse than any other movie.

On the other hand, Star Wars does not deserve this treatment, and especially not Natalie Portman (although that might be my "she's really hot" bias coming out).

Then again, Men In Black II deserved many more razzies.

Anyone who tells me that Natalie Portman and Hayden Christensen didn't deserve a worst on screen couple nomination for Star Wars with a straight face is a very very good liar. I can't stand this "Star Wars doesn't deserve this treatment." When are people going to wake up and realize that Star Wars isn't sour cream on the baked potato anymore? Just because "its star wars" doesn't give it some kind of immunity. Are there lots more bad movies that came out last year that probably deserved more razzing? YES! But should that excuse star wars?

Besides, in the end for the people that really still love star wars no matter what, this will probably have little effect on the big picture, and Lucas will continue business as usual. Doesn't he not care about such things?

I actually think they did a good job on this list, I do also think "stupid movies" being put here is kind of a waste. There wasn't to much of that listed this year.

I do wish Richard Gere for Unfaithful would be nominated. That movie lead actress is nominated for an Oscar and it's lead actor for a Razzie, and it would be totally appropriate.

Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman has to win worst on screen couple. They looked like a homophobic misogynist forced to act out a gay kiss. They looked awful.

I kinda hope he wins both just for the kind of "strange honor" that it'd be, although I don't know if he deserves "Worst Actor" for Country Bears.

Yes....it was not a good movie, but c'mon...it takes a lotta chutzpah to play an armpit farting progeny, hell bent on revenge!
