Gone FLASH.

They're all really well done, and they just added Russian Roulette to the mix. I'm still a big fan of the Bullseye BR, myself.

Enjoy.

Neither Teppan or Eddie Famous apparently wants any of us to have productive lives, as these are as addictive as crack laced with pixy sticks.

*chuckc14 thanks God he wasn't the only one*

But then again, I was scared of a lot of things, like the guy who used to bang his head on the piano on Sesame Street.

I always had a soft spot for the bonus round in the Jokers Wild. And the Card Sharks board with Jim Perry going up in octaves as the cards turned was classic as well.
And yes, I'd like to join the brigade that was spooked as a child by the Tic-Tac-Dough Dragon. Wink Martindale is Satan.

D'oh. No Pyramid Winners Circle.

I found the Classic Concentration one way too easy to be addictive, but the others pretty much guarantee an unproductive afternoon. Great link.

The scariest bonus round for me was this game show called Camoflague where you
had to trace some figure. They played some creepy haunted house kind of music
and if you missed all the lights went out.

I also second the The Joker's Wild - Beat the Devil and the Tic-Tac-Dough dragon.

Not really a bonus round, but the original Wheel of Fortune's shopping spree after
each win was a lot of fun. "And the rest I'll put on the Gift Certificate".

The gift certificate part always came after the infamous line:

"and I'll take the ceramic dalmation for $350"...

One of my personal faves was always the Family Feud bonus round. I always thought I ruled the friggin world on that one.

I wasn't afraid of the dragon, but I was afraid of the non-game show-related tornado that killed Pac Man math guy on Square One TV.

Favorite bonus round is on Match Game aka the Give Richard Dawson a Heart Attack Round.

20,000 (or 10,000?) Dollar Pyramid had one of the best bonus rounds.

Comments:

*You know, you can alter the time on CC; my fastest is 18.

*I was never a fan of buzzers at a young age; so, I watched a decent amount of game shows with no sound. I was petrified of the Dragon. The Jack Barry look-alike Devil was ok, but it was the dragon's roar that got me.

*Pyramid's bonus round rules, but the latest incarnation is ehh -- nothing beats the string pluck sounds during the old days.

*Gift certificate... or the sporadically used "On Account." Just remember, once you've bought a prize, it's yours to keep.

*Jim Perry had the greatest delivery during Money Cards. It's pretty bad when you're making a promo and decide to use the font (with neon glow added) as a tribute. Pathetic, but fun.
*I never minded the Glitch against MathMan.

*You think it's bad now -- wait until they get Flash TPiR and Whammy and Blockbusters going.

*You're welcome!

I myself stand up for the Big Wheel on "Price is Right." If you're like me and I know I am, it offered so many moments of morbid things you hoped would happen:

-Will someone get sucked into the wheel and ground up?

-Will Bob finally get crushed by the screaming fat woman who just won $10K

and my personal long-dreamt-of moment:

-Will the wheel come off its axle, mow down the contestants and then roll toward the crowd making that beeping sound of death?

Either that or trying to figure out if the fat girl or the college gal with the big boobs is gonna win it all at the end. Bob is a perv, y'know.

Also, I second the "floating head shopping spree" on the the old "Wheel of Fortune." I always wanted someone to make ghost noises while he floated past the tennis rackets.

Math-Man was great. I loved the one when the tornado guy (Mr. Glins???) eat Mathman before the game even started. You cant write better TV than that.

I'm right there with the secret and irrational desire to see the Wheel come breaking off and roll through all the college kids in the crowd or for some old lady to get sucked under it. Every time I watch it, man, I'm waiting for it.

The Pyramid is a funny thing. Like Password, it's weird in that they give you the answers, so you can't really play along at home. Also like Password, it has a redeeming value that completely saves it. For Password, it was the awesome voice guy who would say "THE PASSWORD IS...ANTACID" like he was delivering ransom drop-off information. For Pyramid, it was Dick Clark after the final round. Whenever there would be a square left that the contestant failed to accurately guess based on the clues of his or her celebrity, Dick would, without fail, come up and deliever the perfect clue that would have gotten them the money.

I ask you, is there anything better in game shows than the guy from My Sister Sam screaming, say, "A match! Bowling pins! A batter in baseball!" and the contestant having no clue as time runs out, and then Dick Clark walks up, stops the contestant from turning around to look at the Pyramid and says "Would it have helped if he said...The 'Triangle Shirtwaist Company'?" and the contestant immediately says "Oh, Things You Strike!"?

The correct answer is yes, because the music from Match Game '76 and the part on Password when the clue-giver would say a word, the other person wouldn't get the answer and then the clue-giver would say the same word again, only slower ("THE PASSWORD IS...REFRIGERATOR" "Freezer" "Ice?" "...Freeeeeeeezer" "Cold?" ) are both better. But the Pyramid thing is way up there.

What we haven't touched on, yet, is the themes.

To this day, pathetic as it may be, I still get goose bumps when I hear the Hollywood Squares/Match Game Hour theme played for a car intro on TPiR. That, and the Tic Tac Dough theme, sometimes.

With the exception of Millionaire, they do not make them like they used to. Even some of Price's more modern prize cues don't cut it, IMO.

Search around, and you can find a decent amount of themes. The '80s TV Theme Supersite is pretty good; I just need to find a .rm to .wav/.mp3 program.

Oh... the Monopoly theme rules. :)
