I can't figure out which forum this should go in. I'm thinking either feedback or bashing, but I'm still not sure which.

Anyway, it kind of sucks when someone makes a thread like "Sean O'Haire (spoiler)", because most spoilers are pretty much for Smackdown. Granted there are some for Velocity/Heat, but for anyone you care about, it's a Smackdown spoiler. So even without reading the thread, I know that Sean O'Haire's probably going to appear at Smackdown. Well, that's exactly the reason why I avoid the spoilers in the first place! Is there any people on this board could change the way they do spoilers to avoid this sort of thing?

BTW, I didn't mean to personally single out whoever started the "Sean O'Haire (spoiler)" thread. I just needed an example, and it was the first thing that came to mind. I know I've seen spoiler warnings like that before, though.

Any thoughts?

On O'Haire, without reading it a person could think it was for a promo that appeared on SD, since he has had promos on both shows. Generally, SD spoilers are labeled as spoilers without giving out what occurred on the show. Occassionally, someone will make a mistake and throw something into the title that doesn't belong though.

I personally am all for spoiler warnings.
The problem with your scenario is that there is still a chance that given the circumstances, O'Haire could appear on Raw. Maybe the spoiler was that on Smackdown, Steph tried to sign him, and he laid her out and joined Bischoff! You just never know...
I think being sensitive about that is a LITTLE too much... I would just look at that thread title, think "something with O'Haire is happening on Smackdown," and leave it at that. I don't think you can expect people to do anything MORE than putting spoiler warnings up- I mean, that is doing a lot for those of us that do not usually read them...

I agree with Boffo. The thread I think he's referring to is actually called "O'Haire has Arrived (Spoiler!)", and that, I think, is a bit much. It really leaves no doubt, and debuts like that are definitely something I want to be surprised by.

Tooling around the 'net as long as I have, and visiting the kinds of places where "spoilers" are likely to be part of the conversation at any given time, I can unequivocally state that there's no such thing as a spoiler system that works for everybody. This conversation used to be had monthly on RSPW and since CRZ erected the Wienerboard the subject has been raised on a couple of occasions.

It's like safe sex; the only real solution is abstinence. But nobody likes that answer either; nobody figures they should have to stay out of the Wrestling folder between late Tuesday night and whenever they get to watch Smackdown. And, on principle, I agree. This board, however, represents one of those places where principle meets reality and takes a huge beating
