According to Sam Smith, who was on Mr. Tony's show today, NBA hothead Ron Artest, while playing for Da Bulls, tried to get a part-time job at Best Buy, mainly to get an employee discount on electronics.
Funny on so many levels.
This apparently stems from Artest's blowing through his salary at an alarming rate. This rate, which brought up by Jordan during a pick-up game three years ago, led to Artest having MJ to the ground and breaking his ribs.

| #7 Posted on 29.1.10 0231.56 | Looking back from the seven-years-later retrospective, I still blame Ron Artest for (probably) robbing Reggie Miller of his last opportunity to win the NBA championship. For that matter, the Pacers have never been the same since that night in Auburn Hills.
And yet he's somehow found his way onto a team that's gonna be a top contender to repeat as NBA champions in 2009-10, the Los Angeles Lakers.

I don't think Artest is crazy, he's just very, very intense on the court. Sometimes he gets so into the game that he lets his emotions get a little bit out of control.
But when you look at wanna-be thugs like Chris Mills (who blocked a team bus with intent to commit assault), you can't possibly say that Ron Artest is in the same category. Neither is he Dennis Rodman, who was once suspended for deliberately kicking a camerman in the groin. To coin a phrase from Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction, throwing a camera and kicking a cameraman “ain't the same fucking ballpark, ain't the same league, ain't even the same fucking sport.”
I like guys who play with intensity, instead of guys like Vin Baker who think they're playing hard, but really aren't. And the rest of the league has certainly been taking cheapshots at us, too-- what are we supposed to do, let them take liberties with us? We're not a team that's on the court to make friends and play nice, we're a team that's on the court to win. We're trying to take it all the way this year and not everyone's gonna be happy with us. But I'll take playing with intensity over the alternative any day-- especially since we've established ourselves as an elite team in the league. If playing with intensity makes other teams call us cheap-shot artists, so be it. Because if we end up winning the championship, no one is going to be able to take that away from us.
I think a bad reputation (undeserved as it may be) is a small sacrifice to make, if we accomplish what we've set out to accomplish.
