Just when the wrestling and the writing were starting to get better. Maybe they will program Undertaker and Hogan against each other, so they won't pollute the rest of the roster. Better yet, mix the Dawn Marie/Torrie mess into it so all the negativity is countered in one place. The positivity that is Angle/Benoit could be set against it to prevent the formation of a black hole. ( )

Rock wouldn't have been THAT much of a surprise since he was on Raw X and SAID he was gonna be back in a month or so.
Notably, though, Steph has one-upped Eric again, seeing as how Eric promised Austin but couldn't deliver him that night, whereas Steph promised Hogan and brought him out on the same night.
From the sound of things, they're setting up Hogan vs. Vince at Mania, which means that Hogan won't be champion(duh).

I mean, sure, trends and statistics and ratings are trends and statistics and ratings, and maybe it's my relative newness to being a wrestling fan, but Hogan's return isn't necessarily a guaranteed end-all. I'm not saying either way of what will happen, but let's just see what comes.

Now you can make the argument that he will spike up ratings and bring up buy rates. Yeah, he did the same thing for WCW right. BTW, What ever happened to that company?
So wrestling fans should have a wait and see attitude? Oh, give me a rain check. If someone told tomorrow you would be licking skippy peanut butter off a naked Estelle Getty, would you have a wait and see attitude?
Now lets see what happened!
"Hogan IS BACK. And receives an 8 minute standing ovation for all the great 1-800-COLLECT commercials he has been doing. He states that he is back for one last runand will do it right this time, as "by the looks of things in the back, I've got a lot of work to do". Yeah, plenty of work to do for the crapster! More truth in one "worked" interview by Hogan then in his entire fanta I mean Autobiography!!!
"We all love shoot comments that etc. etc. Out comes Mr. McMahon who is disgusted that this is the kind of surprise" So am I Vinny!
Stephanie had for him, but Hogan has a beatdown for Vince and away he goes, leaving Vince in a pile in the ring."--WrestlingObserver.com
Well, I think the real pile walked away.

| #14 Posted on 22.1.03 0138.10 Reposted on: 22.1.10 0144.39 | Jesus Christ, what do you people want??? It looks like Hogan will be with Vince McMahon, which keeps him WELL away from your precious Benoit and Angle and their title.
Hogan with Vince is something they can use. It WON'T hold down any young guys, unless you people really think that Vince was about to work a program with Crash Holly or something, and it fleshes out the card so that there is a bit more of everything for people to see. The cruiserweights will never be fighting for the world title, but does that mean that Knoble doesn't have a spot on the show? Hell no. I don't see how people can act (and since no one here knows the guy or knows much about what goes on behind the scenes, it IS acting) so hateful about Hogan as if on the way to work yesterday he kicked your mother down a flight of stairs.
You know who I think wastes time and talent? Randy Orton. I think Orton's useless, talentless in the ring, and generally hasn't shown me shit other than the ability to count to "97%" while holding his shoulder. Do I think that anything useful will ever come from the guy? Not at all. But I've been around here long enough to remember thinking that about Rocky Maivia and therefore I know enough to keep my mouth shut about shit that hasn't happened yet instead of playing the "who can be more outraged" game.
I swear I'm starting to hate Benoit and Angle strictly because of the conspiracy theories about how *everything* that happens is going to fuck them.

But..but..Heyman is the writer! How can it suck? Muhahaha.. Though when I read the spoilers I wasn't jumping for joy, I hope they did the same they did towards the end of his last run and not make him the focus (and I kinda assume they are clever enough not to do so) but a good role player.

Let the guy get his last match in over McMahon and ride off into the sunset like he wants to.
It's not like he's coming back in and saying that in his last match he wants to go over Benoit, Angle, Jericho, Booker, RVD, and Brock in a Gauntlet match. He just wants one last fuckin' hoorah, and I say let him have it.

Yeah, because look how he ran roughshod over Rock, Triple H, Angle and Brock last year! Oh, wait, that's right, he DIDN'T.
"How this is gonna be different than his last nostalgia trip into the sunset that tanked ratings and buyrates is beyond me, but since I have yet to see it for myself I guess that's unfair."
Uh-huh, because Hogan's nostalgia trip encompassed the entire promotion and tanking ratings had NOTHING to do with Austin's shitty storylines, the constantly-changing nWo line-up, The Rock's absence, Undertaker getting a run with the big belt, and the then-heatless Brock Lesnar being oushed to the moon. Nope, nosirree, it HAD to be all Hogan's fault because, hey, when the ratings drop it's GOTTA be the guy getting the massive pops that we all hate.
Oh, and...
" If someone told tomorrow you would be licking skippy peanut butter off a naked Estelle Getty, would you have a wait and see attitude?"

Do you actually think that this will be Hogan's last match? People thought that at WrestleMania 8, too, and here we are 11 years later.
WrestleMania 20 is next year and I'll be surprised if he's not on the card. |
