| #1 Posted on 20.1.03 1417.33 Reposted on: 20.1.10 1423.45 | Alright, quick question first. Does anyone know where I can find some good pictures of the Rumble last night? I thought royalrumble.com would have some up by now, but no luck. Any help would be appreciated.
Okay, now for some quick Rumble thoughts.
Brock Lesnar d. Big Show Quick and to the point. My whole thing was that they HAD to keep this match around 5-minutes, and they did, so good. It looked as if Brock hit his back badly on the apron in the spot where Show tossed him outside. I was momentarily scared, but he seemed okay. Big Show should take some time off. He looked hurt. Okay match.
Dudley Boyz d. William Regal & Lance Storm And I say, so what? Where do they go from here? They can extend this feud, but it's already boring as shit, so I don't think extending it will do WWE any favors. The only other heel team left on RAW is Three Minute Warning, and God knows no one wants to see THAT feud. There's always RVD/Kane, but that doesn't exactly get me pumped up either. God, the SmackDown tag titles are just SO more interesting. Fair match.
Torrie Wilson d. Dawn Marie Wow! The crowd was in a FRENZY!!! I mean, really, you could hear a pin drop during this match. That little Al Wilson storyline did wonders, huh? Okay match, considering who was involved. Let's just hope it's the end of this GOD-AWFUL feud. Necrophilia, Al Wilson. WWE sure does have it's finger on the pulse of America, don't it? I mean, look at storylines that have worked. Who doesn't have a boss that they'd love to knock on their ass? That's why Austin/McMahon worked. Who is supposed to relate to the Al Wilson storyline? Do you know anyone who had a 60-year-old father who was dating a 25-year-old, and then died because they had too much sex on their honeymoon? Didn't think so.
Dear God, are those Sean O'Haire vignettes awesome or what? I was totally marking out here. I'm actually excited about something on RAW, and I haven't been able to say that in months. I just hope they handle him right after the vignettes are over.
Scott Steiner d. Triple H Please, Vince, let Steiner go! This match SUCKED!!! I'll give Triple H some credit. He did everything he could to save this match. Unfortunatley, there wasn't much anyone could do. Steiner was sucking wind 5-minutes in, and couldn't pull off one move except the overhead suplex. RAW is back in Boston tonight, and I hope Steiner goes out there and gets booed out of the building for the embarassing performance he put on here. Flair was the most entertaining guy out there (and the most over, too.). Please, push someone meaningful now. I don't want to sit through this atrocity again.
Kurt Angle d. Chris Benoit Oh. My. God! What can be said about this match that hasn't been said already? Total match of the year candidate. Crowd was dead at first, after sitting through that Steiner mess, but boy did Angle/Benoit revive them by the end. The crowd was going nuts, and so was I. Total match of the year candidate. I hope this opened Vince's eyes, that just because he loves big guys, doesn't mean everyone else does. Steiner/Hunter killed the crowd dead, and Angle/Benoit whipped them into a frenzy. Beutiful ending sequence in this match. The standing ovation for Benoit after the match was an amazing sight, and I couldn't help but stand up off my couch at home, and clap for him too. These guys deserved it. THIS is what a main-event should be.
Royal Rumble match Okay Rumble. I loved the first half, as the booking was incredible. By the end, though, there was just too many guys in that ring, mostly talentless slugs (*cough*AlbertRikishiThreeMinuteWarningBatistaUndertaker*cough*). Sorry. Did anyone notice something about the final four guys? All big guys. That shows anyone who still has hopes of Booker & Van Dam being in the main-event, what the likelyhood of that actually is. Guess what? People still don't give a shit about Batista. I think the ending SHOULD have been Jericho lasting until the end, but getting dumped by Brock Lesnar for the win. Oh well. Still, a good Rumble. By the way, I hate the fact of Undertaker being back. Hey, I can even find good things to say about Triple H every now and then. But, I can't find one nice thing about the Undertaker. Talentless, redneck piece of shit should retire. Oh well.
Overall, a pretty good show, although it was totally saved by those last two match. But, it was saved in a BIG WAY!
