| #1 Posted on 19.1.03 2258.27 Reposted on: 19.1.10 2259.03 | No real new ground to cover, as damn near everything we saw looks like it made the show. Also, I was getting hot dogs during the women's match, but doesn't seem like I missed much.
I dunno if this made the show but Taker did the "I respect you" crap with Lesnar after the Rumble.
And Lesnar hopped around. A lot. And then some more. And then he did some more hopping. Seriously, this dude must have hopped for 20 minutes after the match. It was like he was at a Greenberry Woods/ Gigolo Aunts concert and was forced against his will to do a power pop pogo all night.
And boy oh boy did we hate that Steiner match. That thing was awful. Awful. I'm no wrestler or anything, but if you do only one move, do it right. What the crap was that blown spot supposed to be? We were dying for Benoit Angle to be good, and we weren't disappointed.
The thing that struck me was that the HHH-Big Dump match did every gimmicky spot known to man. HHH leaves with belt and gets pulled back in. Fifteen interferences by Flair. The belt shot and requisite blade job. Escaping into the crowd... Did Benoit and Angle even leave the ring beyond that weird apron spot?
Flair was trying like hell though, God bless him.
The only other thing of note was when Jericho was as good as dead on the apron, Korderas was giving him instructions and trying like mad to stay off camera. Don't know how often he popped up.
I'd give it a thumbs up, with a big tip of the hat to Shannon Moore for the best Rumble comedy in a number of years, and HHH-BPP for gently reminding us not to take sweet wrestling for granted. Promote this thread! | | PalpatineW

Popular opinion has it that Steiner was attempting a Tiger Driver. (sigh) Remember back ten years ago, when Scott Steiner was pulling out revolutionary moves on a nightly basis?

I would like to a extend a personal thank you to yourself and the people of the Fleet Center for giving that match the reaction it so deserved. I tried to be optimistic about Steiner. But there is absolutely nothing left in the tank for this guy. I wrote of his looser than before pants a Weight Watchers after picture in-ring debut at the house show as nerves. I wrote off the build-up to the Rumble which only lacked a Max Mini tossing contest as bad writing. After last night, he's so far gone from his prime it isn't even funny.
