After watching the A&E Biography on George Lucas, I was left wondering about the Star Wars trilogy and which film many people say is the best- Empire Strikes Back. Assuming you agree that this is the best of the original three, (and I personally agree), where do you feel the film stands as one of the greatest movies of all time. Top 10? Top 20? Many greatest movie lists put the original Star Wars in the top 5, largely for the huge cinematic impact it had. But where do you think Empire fits?
I am not film critic and have never seen many of the classics from the 40s and 50s (Casablanca, Citizen Cane, etc.) but I would consider it arguably a top 10 movie, and definately a top 20 movie. Any thoughts?

I'd like to see those lists.
Personally, if we're talking American Movies only, I wouldn't mind Star Wars making the top 50. (I dunno, Empire might be "better," but Star Wars has it beat in terms of influence, and Star Wars might work better as a "stand-alone" film, too, as opposed to a chapter in a series. Ranking them depends on your criteria.)
If we're talking worldwide, I don't think it would be in the top 100.
