I thought RAW was... I dunno. Just kinda there. It wasn't a bad show, but it really wasn't a good show either. It wasn't a show I'd walk out on, but it also wasn't a show that I'd sit down and watch for a second time. It had it's good points and bad points. Overall, it was just another show.

BAD POINTS

TRIPLE H/SCOTT STEINER POSEDOWN
Seems like this is getting a mixed reaction on the 'net. I'd have to go on the negative side of things. I know that neither guy can wrestle right now, but they have to find something better for these guys to do. I'm just not sure if two muscular guys, covered in baby-oil, flexing for 5-minutes, is a good way to attract the 18-35 male demographic that they're looking for. But, then again, I thought the same for the arm-wrestling contest, and the ratings for that segment did pretty damn good, so who knows?

DUDLEY BOYZ BEATDOWN
Not a bad idea in theory, but I thought it came off as being boring as shit. Batista and Three Minute Warning just stood around, taking turns kicking them, looking totally winded. Then, after commercial, Regal & Storm came down. I was expecting either a ROYAL ASS KICKING, or a Dudleyz comeback. Instead, they just kick the Dudleyz around for a minute and go to the back. Again, this was a good idea in theory, but it was very poorly executed.

BOOKER & GOLDUST LOSE THE TITLES
Now they have no excuse whatsoever on this one. Booker T and Goldust chase the tag team titles for almost all of 2002, finally win them at the end of the year, and then LOSE THEM IN TWO WEEKS? That's just crazy! (Oh yeah, it was really three weeks, but I'm not counting the week they had off.) I'm sorry if Jim Ross has some hard-on for these guys, but the rest of the audience doesn't give two craps about these guys. They should not be champions, no matter how much I love Lance Storm, and no matter how much J.R. loves William Regal. And even if they do deserve it, Booker & Goldust should not have jobbed it to them in two weeks. They should have been champions for months. No excuse.

FINAL SEGMENT
Oh God. The last thing we need is another McMahon on the show. I'm just so sick of Vince. The act is played out. Plus, cutting away directly from the main event to this made the four guys in the ring look totally unimportant. Of course, I had a big smile on my face. Because when Bischoff was doing this "Very important" segment, you could tell the crowd didn't give a shit what was going on backstage, as all of a sudden you heard a very loud "Rob...Van...Dam!" HA! Vince means nothing. Rob means everything!

GOOD POINTS

JERICHO/MICHAELS/ORTON SEGMENT
I thought these three did a hell of a job here. Jericho and Michaels had a great back-and-forth confrontation going on. And when the RNN graphic appeared, and Randy Orton walked down the ramp, I knew it was only going to get better. And it did. Orton is SO awesome, and he proved it last night. When Randy Orton comes back to in-ring competition, the bookers should just say "Screw paying your dues" and shoot that kid up to atleast upper-midcard status. He deserves it, for being one of the most entertaining things on RAW in a LOOOOOONG time.

WOMEN'S MATCH
Fit Finlay deserves a lot of credit. He's done wonders with these women, making them look like a million bucks. Of course, the actual workers deserve some credit too. Trish Stratus is one of the best women's workers in North America today. Victoria has really impressed me with her in-ring skills. I'm not crazy about Jacqueline, but she can definitley hold her own in the ring. And, IMO, Molly Holly is the most talented women's performer WWE has had in quite some time. Kudos to these four for making the Women's division something to look forward to. Oh, quick note to Jacqueline: There is such a thing as TOO BIG of breasts. I'm just saying...

TAG TITLE MATCH
Yeah, the ending really pissed me off. But the actual match was still very good. I've always been a fan of Booker, Regal, and especially Storm. But Goldust has really suprised me these past few months. During his whole career, I always thought of Dustin as being a no-talent hack who only got by in wrestling through his father's name. Boy, he sure has proved me wrong. He's just been awesome in the ring, as of late. I'd tip my hat to you, if I actually wore one.

MAIN EVENT
The crowd went into this one cold, but ended up being hot by the end. These four really won over the crowd, and proved that they DO deserve to be in the main event. I'm sure that most will be back in the opening match by next week, but for one week, it was nice. RVD is still hot, no matter many times he's been buried. Kane is still over with the crowd, even though the necrophillia angle did do it's share of damage. And Jericho and Christian have always been awesome, and always will be. You can count on that.

There. That was RAW in a nutshell. I'm sure I missed some things, but I'm in a hurry, so screw it. Looking forward to SmackDown! 'Til then, good night, and have a pleasent tomorrow.

my only problem with this idea was that you're judging orton solely based on a gimmick played out in pre-recorded bits. let's see how our boy randy does in the ring before shooting him up the ranks; if i remember right, no one was all too impressed by him the first time around, and he wasn't even coming off an injury then.

You do have a point, but for those 2-3 weeks he DID wrestle on RAW, he had ring rust as he was seldom used on Smackdown or Velocity.
