Maybe kick off to each team and have them both try to move down the entire field for an equal number of possessions rather than just getting it on the 25?

I'd say have each team kick off from their own goal line, which should give the other team the ball somewhere between the 50 and the 25. Otherwise, do it the same way as it's done now. Or maybe have them start kicking off at their own 15 or 20, and have them move the ball back 5 years each OT series.

Essentially, I like the idea of the kicking game being in play in the OT, same as in the regular game. It's kind of the same thing as the penalty shootout in soccer or the tiebreaker in Tennis. There seems something wrong with the idea of an OT game being decided in a significantly different way than the actual game up to that point has been played. Kind of like if instead of extra-innings, we had a home run derby to decide a baseball game.
