In a perfect world, Steve Austin would unexpectedly come in at #30 and eliminate Brock Lesnar to win the Royal Rumble. Why? Because that's the big impact WWE needs right now. Like it or not, Austin is still the top guy, and he can't "pass the torch" in a Royal Rumble match. Austin needs to eliminate Brock now so that, when they want to position Brock above Austin, Austin has some momentum for Brock to overcome. If Brock dominates Austin early, then when he defeats Austin, it won't work. Of course, Brock's really not anywhere near the level of Austin, but WWE seems hellbent on making him their next big guy.

It's obvious that Brock is winning the Royal Rumble, because we already see Angle and Heyman doing the "You're never going to get a title shot ever again, Brock!" angle that we've seen so many times with the heel tandems of Yokozuna/Cornette, Rock/Vince, HHH/Steph and so-on. But, that's not going to really have any resonance or "shock value" like Austin's return would.

I don't think Austin would have any objection to being eliminated in the Royal Rumble by Brock Lesnar. Austin was eliminated in the Rumble last year by Kurt Angle, and there really is no reason to assume that Austin has any bad blood towards Brock. He didn't want to put him over on RAW last year for reasons that are well documented.

For those that don't remember: The main gripe Austin had was that Brock-Austin was being rushed on RAW and wasn't built to in any way, whereas they could have done a big PPV payoff with the match.

Brock was also very early into his big megapush and, with Austin believing HHH was holding him down, Brock still had yet to face Rock or HHH at that time, so Austin would have been the first to go down so that HHH could beat him at a later date. Austin wasn't going to fall into that trap.

Now, if it were HHH instead of Brock Lesnar, I could definitely seeing Austin throw a "hissy fit." And he'd have every reason to do so.

Wow, what's this? Enthusiasm for a PPV? Count me in! I'm digging Steiner/HHH and I called Benoit/Angle before Armageddon, so this PPV is already pleasing me. The Rumble itself should be interesting. As for other matches, maybe a women's title match and a Smackdown tag title match. BookerT and Goldust can enter the Rumble as well as the other tag teams on Raw. Jericho and HBK should be having a match, so they're out as well. Here's my RR line up:

Los Guerreros vs. Edge and ?
Eddy and Chavo issue an open challenge and who should come out but Edge? Eddy and Chavo laugh it off, telling Edge he doesn't have a partner. Edge retorts and says he *does* have a partner. Then *the* music hits. Whether it be Real American or Voodoo Chile(Slight Return), it won't matter. Out comes Hogan, ready to tear the house down. Eddy and Chavo throw a fit, but eventually come out on top after pinning Edge. If Rey's ready by the Rumble, give him the match instead. Rey's a more probable choice, as Hogan's still on the outs with the WWE. If it's Rey, then next month at No Way Out the match is a ladder match.

HBK vs. Chris Jericho
I kinda doubt they'll shoot their wad and throw this match out so soon, but they've done dumber things. I'd have both Jericho and Michaels pulling out all the stops to win. Then have HBK win, but just barely. Some big super move where HBK just drapes an arm over Jericho to win. Just like that, HBK proves that the ShowStopper is still alive.

WWE Championship: Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit
How *long* have fans been wanting to a) see that in writing, b) thinking about this dream match, and c) wanting to see this actual match, for the biggest prize in the game. Angle of course wins, perhaps by some interference involving Team Angle or Show.

In between the WWE and World title matches, I'd like to see a women's match, but with who? Victoria would defend, but against who? Trish? Been there, done that. Not that I'd mind seeing it again, but there's gotta be some new feud somewhere. Perhaps Jazz will return? I'd dig Victoria vs. Jazz.

WWE World Title: HHH vs. Scott Steiner
Another match I've been looking forward to for a long time. What I'd like to see would be Steiner take the title from Steiner and then feud with either Booker T or Jericho, but we know that won't happen. TripleH will win some way, somehow.

Royal Rumble
Raw: RVD, Kane, Booker T, Goldust, Dudleys, Batista, Regal, Storm, Spike, 3MW, Rico, Christian, Test
Smackdown: Brock, Team Angle, Jamie Noble, Tajiri, Kidman, Matt Hardy, John Cena, Undertaker, Rikishi, B2, Big Show, A-Train, Damaja, Austin
Brock wins to set up his match with Angle at Wrestlemania.

There you have it.

I'd like to go a road less traveled. How 'bout someone like, say, Big Show ((and Paul)) wins the Rumble by controversial means and then Brocky has a match a No Way Out? Then Brocky can win that match and FINALLY focus on Angle directly. Silly me, but I think that constantly pitting Brocky against Team Angle guys at PPV would build up that story.

As for the positioning of the Main Events, I'd say the SD! main event is at the 1 hour mark, the Raw main event at the 2 hour mark and the Rumble goes last. That just works out for me; your mileage may vary.

I've not only seen her live, I worked with her for about 7 months before she went to OVW. She's worth it. =)

Personally, I think the best way for Austin to return is for him to be in the Rumble (recalling that he had entered it already), and having a heck of a run, but then being eliminated quickly by whoever they want to put him in a feud with. Then, of course, he would have to go so ballistic that he comes back in the ring and completely destroys the guy- a la Taker Maven of last year. Insta-feud...
