The "Bret Screw-job?" A mark out moment??? #1??? This list should be renamed the top ten events prepubescent "IWC Smarks" cream their collective panties for... That is the only way it makes any sense...

-The entire WMX ladder match. -Not the appearance of Vince on Nitro, but the appearance of SHANE on Nitro. -Jeff Jarrett puts Lillian Garcia in a figure four. (heh) -The entire Shane/Kurt match. -Y2J appears. -The Radicals appear. -Jeff Hardy jumps off the balcony through the table as MSG during the Royal Rumble. -Paul Heyman replaces Jerry Lawler. -Owen defeats Bret at WMX (It was mark-out in the true sense of the word. I was PISSED, because I loved Bret so much.) -The first time I heard the ECW music during the Invasion. -Most of the matches this year with the Smackdown Six, with Kurt/Benoit from Unforgiven topping the list. -Brock beats Rock. -Austin turns heel at WMX7. | Dexley's Midnight Jogger

It might not have been butterflies. It might have been sickness that Verne finally had snapped and put the belt on his boy Greg. Remember, Greg Gagne has been banned from the frozen food aisle of most supermarkets. He's such a heat machine, everything melts. | fuelinjected

| #11 Posted on 23.12.02 1530.59 Reposted on: 23.12.09 1533.29 | My first mark out moment was after the I Quit Match between Flair and Funk, Paul Jones turned on Funk then Flair and then Sting helped Funk clean house on the J-Tex Corp.
Also, Austin's first Stunner on Vince in Madison Square Garden complete with Vince's old school convulsion selling.
Chris Jericho's WWF debut was so well done and it was a combination of marking out and just being happy for the guy that he got such a huge ovation.
SummerSlam 93 when Lawler faked the injury and brought in evil Doink to face Bret but then Tunney forced Lawler into the match. Lawler was such a great heel. What happened to you Jerry?
Ric Flair's Nitro return and Four Horsemen rebirth.
The most recent moment would have to be Brock tossing Show around the ring at Survivor Series then giving him a perfect F5. | odessasteps

You mean Gary Hart, right?
It's scary to think of either:
a) Paul Jones managing Terry Funk and Mutoh
b) Terry Funk as part of a stable with Shaska Whatley and the Barbarian.

| #13 Posted on 23.12.02 1849.10 Reposted on: 23.12.09 1849.12 | I couldn't pass this thread up without listing at least one mark out moment (or two):
- January 1989-- NWA World Champion Ric Flair and US Champion Barry Windham are taking on Eddie Gilbert and a mystery partner. The smug looks on Flair's, Windham's. and J.J. Dillon's faces are completely effaced when who should walk out but none other than RICKY THE DRAGON STEAMBOAT!!! My brother and I both had seizures of mark-out joy! Only the shrill noise of a fire engine had a higher tone, volume and pitch than our shouting (we were 10 at the time)!
- Summer 1993-- In a WCW World TV Title match pitting Paul Orndorff against Dustin Rhodes at a Clash event, The Masked Assassin interferes and posts young Duhthtunn, only to have the American Dream DUSTY RHODES himself plant a trifecta of Bionic Elbows on the Assassin! When my bro and I watched that on TV, once again we went into mega mark-out ultra boogie-woogie happy-action-funtime mode! (That's the only way I can describe it, and wrestling's the only game in town that can do that to people!) The Dusty "barks" or "ooh!"s, if you will, ranked up there with the best of 'em, amongst others, Dusty/Sting vs. AA/Tully, Clash II, when Dusty starts bustin' Bionic Elbows on Tully, and the quantum "ooh!"s Hogan was getting in Boston this past summer on SD!!
Ahh. Marking Out Good. It Very Good.

After the nWo bullshit, and Eric Bischoff screwing him at EVERY turn, it was a refreshing and flat out WONDERFUL moment to see someone stand up to the nWo and REALLY take them out. The fact the Horsemen and Randy Savage were enough to hold off the whole nWo from hitting that ring still makes me smile.

All the work to set up the sting/flair match was out the window. They were friendly rivals, then ole/arn/ric turned and kicked Sting out of the horsemen in one of the most intense promos I'd ever witnessed. Totally bought into it. When Ole told Sting "You have one hour to tear up the contract, or wherever you are in this building, or in the city of San Antonio, we'll find you!" -- in some part of my mark-out brain I actually thought they WOULD kill him.
