Da Meltz sez:

"According to members of the Lions Den Fighting Team, Ken Shamrock is expected to retire from MMA soon. If Shamrock does go through with his MMA retirement plans, it is likely that he will once again consider returning to WWE."

So Mr. Shamrock's getting ready for a WWE return, is he? I have just one question to ask?

Does anybody even care anymore?

I think Shamrock had a chance to make a huge impact as the first TNA champion, but he just came off as so bland and boring, it wasn't even funny. He may have destroyed whatever value to the business he had left. You can't even play up the fact that Shamrock's a legit badass, because he's been getting his ass handed to him every time he's fought a shoot (Don Frye, anyone?).

I think Shamrock might want to come back, but do any of YOU want him back? Do you even think WWE wants him back?

I like Shamrock. I wouldn't mind seeing him back. It was always fun watching him freaking out and internally bleeding every other week. I didn't see much of his TNA run, maybe an episode or two and to be honest, it didn't look like he was trying very hard. Plus, they weren't really doing anything interesting with him. He seemed a bit out of place. I think that in the WWE, he';d probably put a lot more efforrt into it and I'm sure they'd have a lot more for him to do. Quite frankly, I've been waiting years now for Smamrock to throw Angle in the ankle lock and take back his damn move!

I love Shamrock. I'd welcome him back with open arms.

His gimmick worked when he played as a face against a comical heel, because he's just so easy to make fun of, and his response was always to get extremely angry. I thought it was amusing stuff. And I've always thought an Angle/Shamrock feud would be good stuff. "You're a UFC champion? Big freakin' deal! I'm an Olympic gold medalist!"

In NWATNA it just looked like he was collecting a pay cheque and trying not to get hurt. If he's returning to wrestling full time, I'd like to see him back. It doesn't hurt to have another established midcarder.

Unfortunately, many people might not even remember the guy nowadays. It was 1999 that he left, after all.

Shamrock made a stupid decision when he decided to leave the WWF and go back to shoot fighting. He had credibility as a legitimate badass and he could have been improving as a wrestler all this time. Now, he is a few years older, will have to catch back up to just get back to where he already was, and he no longer can live off of his shoot fighting credentials. Tito Ortiz beat the hell out of Shamrock a few weeks ago and treated him like a jobber.

This is exactly why I hope Angle doesn't leave to train for the Olympics. Of course, Angle is far superior to what Shamrock would have ever been but, I prefer to have Angle stay and keep improving (Damn, that's a scary thought). Plus, it's great for Angle's character that he went out of amateur wrestling as an Olympic gold medalist.

I see Shamrock joining Raw as he was never a great wrestler and would be a better fit on Raw.

Shamrock went a full three rounds with Ortiz. And he lost to Frye, but Frye ended up in the hospital after the match.

Jim Ross has never kept his feelings about Shamrock a secret, openly inviting him to come back to WWE many times. If Shamrock wants in, he's in.

I heard a radio interview with Shamrock just a couple of days before his fight with Tito Ortiz, and he said that Vince told him he has a place on the roster if he ever wants to come back.

Now I don't get NWA-TNA here, but I totally dug Shamrock when I saw him in then-WWF. I thought his IC Title run was great and I actually liked the "snapping" thing. I wouldn't mind seeing him come back.

I think it finally hit me why Ken Shamrock's TNA run failed so miserably.

I didn't see the guy snap ONCE!

The Ken Shamrock I know and love was a psychopath who always snapped and screamed and kicked shit while bleeding internally! Nobody bit a condom like Shamrock! And it was so much fun to see him snap!

If he comes back, I wonder if he'll pick up where he left off and feud with Jericho?

I always liked Ken Shamrock, he's the only ultimate fighter that made the jump that I enjoyed watching. He seemed to transfer into a pro wrestling style pretty well.

I liked almost everything about him. His ring style was okay with me, even his "not think things through" character was good as well. He really seems like the perfect enforcer guy (boy that term is being used alot on this board recently lol). My favorite Shamrock moments was him running all around the arena looking for a kidnapped Steph and very evil Lucifer-Taker. He also had a great feud with Owen.

Him and Jericho had a great unresolved feud. I loved Jericho and Fink together and Jericho outsmarting Shamrock time after time and sacrificing Fink to make his getaway LOL

But if he does come back does this mean Lance Storm has to give him back his gear?

Come on, he wasn't prepared to fight Ortiz. The 3 rounds, he got a couple of shots in, and just got his ass HANDED to him. The only reason it lasted that long was because he didn't want to quit and it had to get so bad that the ref(McCarthy still doing it?) had to stop the fight.

But hey, if he wants to prove he's a badass, I hear King of the Cage needs some talent.. *snickers*

I like Shamrock but is he really what the WWE needs right now? It probably doesn't make much difference either way. If he comes cheap then bring him but he doesn't then what's the point. He has to establish himself all over again and the fans that remember him might doubt his passion for wrestling.

They should bring him in only if he comes cheap.

I don't mind seeing Shamrock come back in, but I have two concerns:

1) They couldn't do anything new or fresh with him, and it'd feel circa 1999 all over again. I think that's a legit concern, especially considering the current poor state of booking affairs.

2) His return doesn't come at the expense of a fresh new guy trying to earn his spot... If Shamrock comes back and they take away Edge's push to give it to him, that's not a good thing. However, if they pull the Albert push in favor of him, then I'd be happy.

I would love to see Shamrock back.

I think the masses will remember him. And as was already mentioned, feuds with Jericho and Angle are ready made.

Also, I would be willing to bet far more people remember him from his last WWF run than are even AWARE that he recently got his ass whipped in a UFC event.

Well, that's easy to say when the numbers are "10" (remember him) and "2" (aware he got his ass beat).

The casual fans probably won't remember him, since many have most likely stopped watching since 1999. He's not going to pop a rating or buyrate. Why bring him in when you've got guys like Booker, RVD, and Jericho wandering aimlessly in the mid-card, not to mention Helms getting squashed by every hoss on Raw, the cruisers doing nothing, Kanyon & Rhyno returning soon, and Sean O'Haire wrestling on Heat? There's plenty of guys they can use who'd be better than Shamrock, if only the writers/bookers would get a clue.

My vote - no Shamrock.
