Well, Vince McMahon has taken the first step on the road back to the top. Apparently, Vince McMahon admitted at the last creative meeting that Shock TV is dead and WWE should no longer go in that direction.

So what does this mean? Hopefully, it means going back to something crazy...like wrestling!

Hopefully, we've seen the end of necrophilia and the like.

Dear god...a wrestling show! That's just crazy! Crazy I say!

I'm impressed...denial,then anger, and now acceptance. Well some progression is going...does this mean we still see HHH show on Monday's though?

I think Vince's statement will end up being more important than we may know right now. RAW's sinking ratings, the money lost in the last fiscal quarter, HHH's undue political influence at certain points, Gerwitz's poor booking, and Shock TV-- there's a correlation between all of these things (NOTE-- correlation, NOT causation). If Vince is saying that Shock TV is dead, that must also mean everything that is tied to this idea of shocking angles and the like.

Gerwitz's booking/shock TV philosophy has FAILED. HHH's run during this time has FAILED. If he does have political pull, why wouldn't he step in if he had a feeling that certain angles weren't good ideas? I mean, he couldn't have possibly been a yes-man to all of this BS on RAW now, could he? Vince knows he fucked up. This is the death knell for Gerwitz. It may also translate to HHH not having as much political pull too. Hey, I'll believe it when I see it too, but you know something? WWE has no other option for RAW than to take it on a course similar to SMackDown!, because the approach that we've all had to deal with watching WWE'S FRANCHISE has FAILED.

Brighter days be comin' for all of us wieners soon, m'lads.

Perhaps Vince has finally realized that the crap he has been forcing on the fans - HLA, Vick, etc. - is no damn good whatsoever, and is killing his business (especially RAW). If that's truly the case, hurray for Vince, for he finally "got it".

Now if Vince could just convince HHH that he's not a member of the Marvel Universe or the Justice League.

Where was this reported? I would like to read the story. Also, hopfully this won't bring us another reset. Just improve the product that is already in motion.

"With Raw ratings floundering, Vince McMahon recently got up during a creative meeting and declared that Shock TV was dead.

McMahon reportedly said that using Shock TV is no longer a way to generate interest in the show.

Presumably, there will be less or no Shock TV elements used on WWE TV in the foreseeable future."

Using the Vince Doesn't Tell the Truth Theory (trademark pending), does that mean we start the countdown to the return of Vince Russo and full shows of Shock TV?

When he says that, I hope that Vince means that "bad" tv is dead. I don't have a problem with them doing provocative stuff, but not just gratuitous stuff like the necrophilia angle to try and generate some phony "buzz." Of course, wrestling is gratuitous by nature, so I'm probably outta luck. But they need to get back to basics - violence and cheating as acceptable ways to solve problems.

I hope not. Keep Russo, the "man that saved wrestling", away from the WWF. Let Russo destroy TNA instead. Then, maybe a couple of pink slips for writers on the RAW side.

Good. The Raw brand could work with a focus on storylines but there has to be a commitment to writing INTERESTING storylines. He needs to get back to the basics of pushing young guys and using the older wrestlers to job and build up the next generation of superstars. Hate to be a skeptic but I will believe it when I see it.

Does the New Raw include a new announce team(a replacement for Lawler) and new writers?

Seriously, any ways I could get a job at WWE as a chief writer,I'm an author at heart,If I were old enough to actually work I would take the Hurricane gimmick somewhere(thinking of keeping him tagged with Kane and use Kane's heat and stuff to springboard Hurricane to a title that will be created)

...ok,I'll stop.
