In the 100 greatest Britons thread, many people were angry that Robbie Williams was on the list. Now I do agree that he does not deserve to be on the list. But come on, Rock DJ is a pretty good song. I have pretty deep musical tastes, I like a little bit of everything. I think I can say that Rock DJ is one of the best pop songs ranking up there with Michael Jackson's songs. I've never heard any of Robbie's stuff. So I might be misinformed. Sorry, I had to get that manifesto out of my system. | Promote this thread! | | Big Bad

In my opinion, I don't think any musicians should've made the Top Britons Ever list aside from the Beatles, Stones and maybe Bowie. | tomvejada

If you don't fall into one of those categories, then your 'greatness' is quite easily just a passing fad.

Robbie didn't even write the song. It was his mate Guy Chambers, who has fallen out with (and, shockingly, his output is now terrible). If you like his stuff and have not heard it, try and find "Angels".
He should not be in the top 100. He should not be in the top 1000. He is not a particulary great singer, not a great writer and, despite what women will tell you, he is a fat, useless tub o'lard. The best description I have heard of him was Noel Gallacher who described him as "the fat f*cking dancer from Take That" (Take That being the English equivalent of NKOTB, the band Robbie was in. And if you like his stuff, look for "Back For Good").
Robbie Williams is like Justin Timberlake: a polished turd who will disappear in a few years, only to be remembered by middle-aged women looking back to their childhoods, like David Cassidy nowadays.
By the way, he also wants to be the next Bond. Mwah ha ha haha!
