| #1 Posted on 26.11.02 2359.14 Reposted on: 26.11.09 2359.31 | Hey i just has a wrestling flash back remembering watching nwa on saturday mornings and watching wwf on saturday evenings, and i was thinking hmmm some old finshers that were pretty cool. feel free to add some of yours.
The Garvin Stomp- silly finsher where one of the garvin brothers (ronnie i think) would stomp the unlucky sap on every part of his body.
Mean Mark (undertaker WWF) The Heart Punch- lol i remember my older brother getting in trouble for doing that one to me
jimmy garvin's brainbuster i guess this is considered simple now but u got to admit that was a sweet brain buster.
And have someone tap out top the good old figure four lol
hmmm and my fav old school moment? when the road warriors took one of their spikes from their football pads and gored dusty rhodes in the eye he he thats something i wont forget i think because they did it on regular tv
i miss the old heel managers too. i mean u have them not but its like well. back in the day the heel manager jim cornett or bobby heenan or my personal fav slick would like cheat over and over nearly getting caught by the face but when he would go for the manager this would let the heel get the opportunity to smak the guy in the back. well what i was getting to it was like there was a build up to when the face would finaly get that manager. i mean after a while u wanted him to just get his hands on jim cornetts neck more than u cared about him winning the match. i mean it happens now but instead over a series of matches it happens every night. the cool part about it was the build up. you dont see it anymore. or maybe ive been drinking too much when i watch "rasslin "
and u guy post your old school moves Promote this thread! | | DarrylTheHitman

As for a favorite old school tag team finisher (kinda redundant, since double-team finishers are almost never seen anymore, I could cite just about anything the Rockers ever used. However, if I had to pick one, it would the one where Michaels had a guy up in the Doomsday Device position, but Janetty came off the top turnbuckle with a back elbow instead of a clothesline. (I cringe to this day when it is used in a match as a secondary move) The Claw will always hold a small place in my heart due to the fact that all I would have to do when I was younger was make the "left hand holding back the claw" gesture to my sister when she was getting mouthy and she would run off screaming. | #15 Posted on 27.11.02 1018.54 Reposted on: 27.11.09 1019.27 | Brain busters are pretty much gone now but, both Jimmy Garvin and Dick Murdoch had good looking brain busters.
Jake Roberts was THE MAN with the DDT. He looked like he was killing his opponent the way he slapped the guy on the back and then violently dropped his head to the mat.
While Nikita Koloff used a Russian Sickle, which was just a simple clothesline, he made it look brutal.
Also, I've noticed some folks mentioning Arn Anderson's spine buster but, he didn't use that as his finisher back in the day. He used the Spine Buster as a setup move and he used a Ghourdbuster as his finisher. I liked his Ghourdbuster but, for some reason he stopped using it.
As for double team finishers, I liked the Midnight Express' Vege-matic.

Dusty got in big trouble for that. Shortly before that, he was told not to bleed on TBS any more. He, of course, bled like a stuck pig during that segment. Many say that's why he was wearing polka dots in the WWF shortly after that.
My favorite old school beatdown also featured Dusty Rhodes. It was the time the Four Horsemen followed Dusty's car to a parking lot and then beat him up, tied him to a truck crucifix style, and then broke his arm with a baseball bat.

Yes, it's weak, but I marked for it all the time when I was a teenager. Baron Von Raschke's heart punch killed me. The claw is still one of my favorites. Too many memories. | Dexley's Midnight Jogger

Demolition's move was called the Decapitation Device. A play off the Doomsday Device. Gorilla has been known for making up words and phrases on the spot, and I recall him saying Human Ferris Wheel, but he was only describing it. I never liked that move.
Billy Jack Haynes/Hercules's FULL NELSON. Warlord's was good too, but they made a big deal when BJH did his. "HE'S LOCKED THE FINGERS!! THERE'S NO GETTING OUT NOW!!" They acted like you couldn't get out of the move, so where I lived, we would all put each other in the Full Nelson and try to figure ways out. It wasn't hard to do. | asteroidboy

Jake DID throw a sweet DDT, but what made it better than all the rest? I remember switching to WCW in the early 90s and seeing lots of people using it. I thought, "Hey, that's Jake's move!"
When Owen was "The Rocket," he did some finisher where he would bounce off the top rop and do a backflip (I think). That was the first time that I'd ever seen anyone do something like that. |
