No, the gay gimmick was not a career killer. It made him more than just a guy on the roster. People know him now. It's the simple rule of making someone (somewhat) over. Give them a character to care (=love, hate, laugh) about and people will remember them for a long long time.
Chuck has the physique to be a player. Not too big to be a freak, but very well built. I am not thinking wwe champion but he could be a decent midcarder.. | Ender

Palumbo is still doing shows. It's not like the WWF is going to cut him loose just because they couldn't figure anything else for him to do after the GAY gimmick.
Like, do you think they'd really let D'Von go because his gimmick, and recent in-ring work hasn't been great?
You don't throw away an investment like that. It's just bad business. | evilwaldo

He will end up being a decent midcarder given the right gimmick. They just need to let time pass before getting him back out there again. The gay gimmick generated a lot of press and they probably want people to forget about it completely. | Lotty

That's the problem now with the WWE...they got rid of all their midcard belts. Now the only belts to fued over are the WWE title and the World's Heavyweight Championship. Looks like Tag Team for life for Palumbo. | darkdragoon

| #9 Posted on 25.11.02 1906.42 Reposted on: 25.11.09 1908.23 | What they should do with Palumbo is indeed reunite him with O'Haire, and push em as an up-and-coming tag team. They can schill them by just replaying their suprise debut when they ran in and beat down both the Dudleys and Hardys.
I dont see that happening though since WWE has depushed and released "outside"(ECW/WCW alliance) talent since its become a monopoly. | Well Its The Big O

Actually, now that I think about, who gives a fuck about Chuck Palumbo? | Big Bad

Last time Vince played around with the idea of detectives in the WWF/E, we ended up with Leslie Nielsen investigating the fake Undertaker/Undertaker feud of 1994. And, I don't think anyone wants to go back to something that wretched and horrid again. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
