| #1 Posted on 24.11.02 1309.44 Reposted on: 24.11.09 1310.47 | This is for any guitar or bass players. Im looking for a new amp and working on a budget of under $300. Something loud, but with good tone. I will be playing a Epiphone SG and an Ibanez bass through it in two bands. One plays punk and the other plays thrash and hardcore metal. Im considering a Rouge GS-100R. Anybody know if these are any good? Promote this thread! | | sentonBOMB

however, i do think you're going to run into trouble with your budget. i just put together what i consider a fairly budget 350-watt hartke/peavey bass rig for a little over 600 bucks, and it was a steal used. my ex-guitarist just paid a similar price for a used marshall/crate half stack from i believe Musician's Friend, so you might want to try them also.. www.musiciansfriend.com
good luck.. like i said, your budget is way low unless you're just playing in your house and don't need a stage-worthy rig. | witeoutaddict

Thats just how it is when your 15 and only work 1 1/2 everyday after school. Im also considering buying a friends 4x12 Marshall cab, but I'll need a head. Any reccomendations? | sentonBOMB

| #4 Posted on 25.11.02 1546.23 Reposted on: 25.11.09 1548.25 | i personally think the biggest problem you're going to run into is trying to find a rig that suits both bass and guitar, which seems to be what you're doing. bass played through a guitar amp is going to sound like absolute ASS, so i'd focus on getting a bass head and bass cabinet rather than a guitar amp, which is not going to suit your bass at ALL. and the rely on a pedal to get distortion, rather than using the amp itself. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
