But I never did anything more than get bells off my islander before this week so that is the reason for that. I am still waiting for the damn lunar wallpaper. I play maybe 1/2 hour a day now. It loses some of its magic after a while. Maybe if some of my friends had it the game would be more fun. | Spaceman Spiff

Got the gold Mario Statue from winning the fishing tourney last week, as well as the Fishing Trophy from winning week 1. Got the Mako Statue (one of the orange statues, my 4th diff. one overall) by shaking a tree. Found a new insect (bag worm or sack worm or something like that) by shaking a tree. I've seen new furniture show up @ Nook's, notably the fruit-themed chairs. Got the Bear Fishing and the Stone Coin (big ass stone wheel) from Gulliver.
I haven't gotten the lunar wallpaper yet, either. But I haven't been running errands. | Pool-Boy

I still need a space shuttle, flying saucer, lunar wallpaper and the moon... I don't know... there is definitly something lacking in this game. It was really fun at first, but there is no incentive to play much anymore. I actually busted out an old game instead this week... Maybe AC needs quests of some kind... I don't know what... but just logging on once a day and writing letters is not much fun at this point... | Guru Zim

Still, it was a great run for a month. I can't think of a game that had my system on so consistently with *someone* playing it.
I'm sure I will pick it up now and again at some point, but I really sort of obsessively played the hell out of it - and the stupid Halloween furniture hunt really broke us as a group because it took so long. | Spaceman Spiff

| #11 Posted on 22.11.02 1341.37 Reposted on: 22.11.09 1341.41 | I usually fire up the game for ~20 minutes each day, enough to hit Nook's to buy/sell, to talk to each townsperson at least once, and to dig up anything I happen to run across. On Sunday's I play a little longer due to the Turnip lady and the fishing tourney.
I never fish anymore outside of the Nov. Fishing Tourney, but I may try again once winter hits to see if any new fish show up.
The Harvest Festival is next week. If I'm reading the website correctly, we should be able to get Thanksgiving themed stuff somehow (stealing silverware?).

| #13 Posted on 22.11.02 1434.18 Reposted on: 22.11.09 1435.33 | I caught the bee by just running in circles a couple of times (once I shook a nest out of the tree) and then swinging at the swarm while they try to re-group ... Sounds stupid, but it worked for me.
Oh, and if anyone's looking to add a new bug to their collection (if you already have the bee) try this : wait until you get into an acre where you hear a sound like a frog croaking. Walk around a bit until the sound gets very distinct; then dig a couple of holes around the area. If you chose the right spot, the mole cricket will pop out of the ground. But ya gotta be quick to net it!
P.S. I think we've all hit the "lull" period, where's there's nothing really new going on ... I think the changing of the seasons should really liven things up (new bugs, fish, etc), although I could be wrong. Of course, I only play about 15 minutes a day after work now, so maybe I've been able to spread things out a little more to keep from getting real bored.
Anyway, I think Nintendo has got themselves a nice little foundation upon which to build a franchise on - we'll have to see what can be improved for the sequel (assuming there will be one).

It doesn't help that a lot of my original goals (expanding my house and collecting all the fossils for the museum) have been met. I know I can't get the rest of the fish and bugs until I've played a full year, and the paintings appear so infrequently I've given up on that happening soon. I still have about $270,000 to pay off on my final debt, but I haven't felt like fishing for the hour or so it would take to rake that in.
Its good to know I'm not the only one missing the lunar wallpaper. I also have the boxing set wallpaper, and I never noticed this before (my girlfriend discovered this!!), but if you ring the ring bell, people in the crowd start taking pictures and cheer. There's still plenty of stuff to discover, but its a lot harder to find, I guess.
Also, in my primary town, I've never been visited by Saharah. She's been twice to my back-up town, which is how I've been to get stuff from her. Its nice that you can keep refusing what she offers until she offers carpeting you like. It sucks that her prices double each time you buy from her.
Has anyone else found a glowing spot on the ground and dug up $30,000 instead of the usual $1,000?

I got that last week, which is the only time it's happened for me. Usually, it's the $1000 bag, but I have dug up a $10,000 bag twice, too. | Alessandro

I also picked up the Robot Stereo over the weekend.
I've also been filling my basement with Gyroids. I don't know if anybody's noticed this, but it appears only about 7 can stay on at once (I've got about 9 or 10). I also wonder if the Gyroids cooperate to make 1 "song" when they interact w/ each other? I suspect they do, because it kinda sounds like actual music when they're all making their sounds. Yes, I have witnessed the same phenomenon ... Seriously, my brother must have like 20 Gyroids in the same room together (perhaps a bit of an exaggeration but there are a lot of them) and the back row would always automatically turn themselves off once he made some new additions to his collection.
