Short end of it, Texas courts ruled that comics are inherently a medium for kids by virtue of simply BEING comics, so mature material is not to be placed in them.
It's like I can't read a news story about comics without getting sick to my stomach.

this reminds me of the time that Oklahoma or Texas locked people in jail for renting Tin Drum because one of the characters is an older person trapped in a younger persons body, and the police went to the judge and got warrents because they told the judge that the kid had sex with adults in the movies....
just because comics are drawn, doesn't make them for kids. i remember the whole "Graphic Novel" approach DC and marvel started to try, but every one knows them as comics.
so, cartoons in playboy are for kids, because they look like comic strips? what's next?
La Blue Girl is animated, that means it's for kids, right? [for non Hentai fans, La Blue Girl is a very adult japanese animated (anime) that has lots of sex, sex, and sex, with a side of sex]
Everyone who loves comics and really hates what's going on in texas should contribute to the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, which was started to help publishers/artists/writers from this kind of ignorant lawmaking.
