We don't have a lot of history to go by, only Darryl Kile really, who rocked once he got out of Denver. And Atlanta has been known to revive a few pitchers careers, most recently Mike Remlinger, Chris Hammond, and John Burkett. Mussina is a friggin tool. He rarely talks to the media, and if he does, he has this, "Why the hell are you bothering me with this drivel?" kind of tone. I remember the game he pitched against the Bosox where he took a perfect game into the 9th (broken up by the Everett hit). After the game, when interviewed, he was like "whatever". Man, that list is loaded with enough malcontents to stake claim of being the "All-time malacontent" team. That's one of the reasons I don't midn the Yankees. We liked him in Baltimore. Then he took the money and ran. Which was fine, I dind't begrudge him the money or the opportunity to compete with the Yankees. It was the way he buried the city of Baltimore and the fans who cheered him for so long in his press conference that sealed the deal. I used to be a big Mussina fan. Then of course he ran his mouth too much and that was that. That's why he gets booed more at Oriole Park than other other player ever has. Jeff Weaver will never be the #1 starter on the Yanks. They will always have someone far better than he will ever be...at least they better. I still woulda kept Lilly.
My prediction is Glavine signs with the Mets or Braves. If the Mets can't blow him out of the water with a 4 year deal, he is back in Atlanta. I doubt that the Braves are psyched to deal with Boras for Maddux. I could see him going to Texas, being that Atlanta probably wouldn't have enough in the budget for Glavine and Maddux, and Arizona is too far in the red, especially bringing Larry Walkers millions on board. | darkdragoon

The current world champs didn't do much against his curveball when he came into relief in Game 4...and he'll have a full year with the staff instead of languishing in Detroit for most of the season... maybe ace is pushing it, but they wouldn't have traded for him if they didn't think they could do something with him...
And AZ's not so much in the red as it is, but cash flow and still having to pay Jay Bell etc. hurts. Still, they're not as dependent on free agents/trades as before, although Walker's presence as a threat would help the lineup.
