I'm just so proud to know that, even though thousands of American lives are on the line, our government still has time to hate fags.
So, when another attack happens, and the government says "Yeah, we had some information, but we couldn't translate it in time" (You know, like on 9/11), just remember there was a damned good reason this time - We didn't want those documents translated by faggots, did we? Heavens, no! Why, what would High Lord Ashcroft think?
I can't belive that in the middle of everything, we still have this kind of reactionary horseshit going on. Promote this thread! | | StaggerLee

| #5 Posted on 16.11.02 0205.14 Reposted on: 16.11.09 0205.21 | IM sorry, I shouldve been more clear. I think that homosexuals should be allowed to serve openly. Someones sexual preference has no impact on their job performance. So there is no logical reason why anyone should have to hide what they are. The military rule on homosexuality is wrong and needs to be changed. thats my point. | StaggerLee

Rock, what are the rules on men and women interacting on a Navy vessel? Do you think the problem with gays serving openly is somehow related to that, as in, they don't want any sexual tension on the high seas?
Of course, it is the Navy... ;) | Grimis

It makes no freaking sense, thus meaning that what I just said has nothing to do with the lunacy of firing six Arab translaters because they're not like the 95% of athe rest of us... | rockdotcom_2.0

well the women and the men arent separated on ships or anything like that if thats what you mean...lol. We all work side by side and of course there is sexual tension, relationships, random hook ups, things like that. A navy ship is just like a lot of workplaces when it comes to male-female interaction. Throw in the fact that its probably more high stress than most places coupled with the fact you can be out to sea for days, weeks, months at a time, and things are going to happen. The navy tries to regulate it but its mostly just something thats accepted that will happen. The navy mostly sweats any possible sexual harrasment allegations and hookups between enlisted people and officers.Other than that if you are discreet and it doesnt cause a problem nobody cares.
TO answer your question does that all that relate to gay men and or women? I dont think so. Mostly its because that a good number of people that I talk to that are agianst letting gays serve is that they wouldn feel comfortable knowing that such and such is gay and he sleeps 10 feet away from you or he uses the same shower. And I always say to that is get over it. 50 years ago most guys didnt feel comortable with black men working and living with them, but they had to get over it. If someone can do the job, physically and mentally than there is no reason they shouldnt be allowed to serve their country. Their bedroom preferences have nothing to do with it. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
