| Read the thread entitled “ABOLISH PORN?” if you don't know what I'm talking about.|
Anyway... this is my letter to David “Anti-Porn Guy” McNamara, whose political views I find extremely offensive-- perhaps worse even than those of Hitler. I titled my letter “Your views...”.
After reading your political views, I must say I find them interesting-- if one can call such vile, offensive rubbish interesting.
Firstly, you propose to ban pornography, oral and anal sex, with tremendous fines and the threat of imprisonment for those who disobey. I would ask, how do you define pornography? If you define pornography as the American Heritage Dictionary, Fourth Edition does, you propose to ban “sexually explicit pictures, writing, or other material whose primary purpose is to cause sexual arousal.” You then further propose to eliminate two ways in which some couples choose to express their love for one another. You would dare impose this ban on married couples, as well? You're going to tell a married couple what they can and cannot do in the bedroom? Frankly, I don't think it's really anyone's damned business what people do in the bedroom, whether they're married or not. I, myself, believe that people shouldn't “do it” until marriage, but I don't believe in imposing my morality on other people (which, apparently, you do).
Secondly, you propose that interracial marriage be banned. “While I am not racist, I believe that God intends people to marry within their own race. Any and all interracial marriages currently licensed should immediately be annulled, with any children born to said couple, allowed only to marry with other children of interracial couples.” May I ask, where in the Bible does God say “Thou shalt not, being a white man, marry a black woman, or thou shalt surely die”? It appears that your interpretation of the Bible differs from mine. I believe that God wishes human beings to love one another, regardless of such petty differences. What is race, after all-- differing levels of skin pigmentation? If a man and woman of different races grow up their entire lives together as friends, fall in love and decide to get married, how can anybody step in and say, “No, that's wrong”? I believe that when a man and a woman are in love, that's all they need. Love knows no color.
You go on to say, “I am in favor of the death penalty for murder (including performing an abortion), attempted murder, rape, incest, pedophilia/child molestation, bestiality, necrophilia, transvestites, treason, spying against the state, espionage, drug dealing, vampirism, adultery, and armed robbery.” Murder and rape, I can agree with wholeheartedly. Treason, perhaps, as well. The others are quite over the top. Surely, there should be penalties for all these other things as well. But enforcing the death penalty for all these other offenses would be in violation of the Eighth Amendment, which states, “Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.” Indeed, I daresay that thus far, your entire philosophy has been in violation of this Amendment.
You continue, “I am also 100% against homosexuality and I believe homosexuals (including lesbians and bisexuals) as well as people with fetishes, ought to be put in mental hospitals. This must be done NOW, before they degenerate society and our children's morals even further. I also believe ANY children in the custody of homosexuals ought to be taken away IMMEDIATELY, in order to prevent further emotional and sexual abuse. DO NOT let your children near one of these vile monsters!”
While I am not homosexual, my sister is bisexual, and I have friends and co-workers who are homosexual. I daresay that a good number of them are of high moral character, friendly and professional to a fault. They are not sick-- merely different. And to deprive a child of his/her parents in the name of punishing homosexuals is perhaps the greatest evil of all-- it reminds me very much of Nazi Germany, where children were torn from their parents as they were being taken into the death camps.
You then go on about a National Dress Code. Dress codes are controversial enough in schools without being applied to everyone. You say you wish to run for high office; do you really believe that anyone will vote for you if it meant restricting their own freedoms? You've already proposed to take away the freedom of people to marry outside their own race and to express themselves in certain sexual ways. I can't believe that even 1% of Americans share the radical views that you do. Elections are typically contested between a liberal and a conservative, but in order to win, each candidate must attempt to reach the center, where most Americans hold their beliefs. Did they not teach you this in Government class?
Your proposal to ban the teaching of the Theory of Evolution, I cannot entirely disagree with. However, keep in mind that the Theory of Evolution is just that-- a theory-- and that scientists are not saying with 100% certainty that “This Is The Way Things Are”.
You propose a mandatory ten-year prison sentence for anyone caught with any illegal drug. Later, we learn that you would illegalize alcohol and tobbaco. Picture this scenario: A cop goes up to two teenage boys, one of whom has a pack of cigarettes in his hand and another who is a good, upstanding citizen. The smoker, realizing he's been caught, quickly stuffs his pack of cigarettes into the pocket of the innocent boy, and the cop discovers that pack on the boy's person. So, you propose a mandatory ten-year sentence for the innocent boy?
Prison reform. You propose that we basically treat prisoners worse than we treat animals? How about the ones such as our boy in the last paragraph, who was framed by his so-called friend? How about the non-violent offenders? With an animal rights campaign going on by those who propose the mass slaughter of farm animals, you would propose that we treat fellow human beings even worse than we do them? To expose your hypocrisy, I use the same Bible that you twist to spread your evil ways. Matthew 6:26 (NIV)-- “Look at the birds of the air; they do not store or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”
Heck, in the very same verse where you speak of God making man in his own image, therefore we shouldn't do this or that or that or this, I have found this passage. Genesis 1:26-- “Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our own image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.’” If human beings are to rule over animals, are we to live like less than them? The Bible, which you claim to cherish, contradicts you in a big way.
Next paragraph. “I will legalize police entrapment operations so that criminals can be caught by police without fear of a lawsuit, as well as to catch potential and aspiring criminals before they actually commit a crime on their own.” So you propose to arrest people and house them in your barbaric dungeons (for indeed, prison is too grand a word for what you propose) for doing what? You wish to catch them before committing a crime? What will you charge them with? How many times have you had an argument with someone and said to yourself, “I think I'd like to kill him”? It doesn't mean you're actually going to do it, does it?
“I believe in Singapore-style anti-terrorist legislation. I propose that anyone suspected of being a terrorist ought to be required, if necessary, to serve up to 5 years in prison without formal charges being brought forward.” Ingenious idea. Now you propose to put people in your dungeons who haven't actually done anything, and keep them there for up to five years without formally charging them? This violates two more Constitutional Amendments. The Fifth Amendment guarantees the right of the American people not to “be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law”, while the Sixth Amendment states that “the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial”. Were you asleep during U.S. History class?
In your next paragraph, you state your belief that tobacco and alcohol are ruining America. I disagree-- it is people like you who are ruining America, poisoning other people's minds with fascist dogma and offering to take away our most sacred freedoms “for our own good”.
Next paragraph-- banning all tattooing. I personally feel that if people wish to risk infection through excessive tattooing, perhaps we should let them, and decrease the surplus population. Seriously, though, I feel it is yet another freedom that we have that you propose to infringe upon “because it's in our own best interests”.
Next paragraph. “I support implementing a Federal Anti-Vice Squad (FAVS) that will enforce all the morality laws enacted once fellow moralists are elected to high positions in government. The FAVS will have full search and seizure powers and will be able to, for example, demand a spare key from someone to search homes for pornography or tobacco, etc. The FAVS will also be responsible for enforcing the NDC with patrolling of streets and informants on the streets of America.”
You propose to invade people's privacy to have a Federal Anti-Vice Squad ransack their homes to look for things that may or may not be there? What ever happened to probable cause? You stomp upon a different Constitutional Amendment for the fourth time with this statement. The Fourth Amendment clearly states, “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.” At the rate you seem to be going, we might as well roll up the Bill of Rights, stuff it into a garbage basket, pour gasoline on it and put it to flame. Maybe we should even drop a nuke on it for good measure. Tell me-- how did someone like you ever get out of high school, when you clearly don't understand the fundamentals of American government?
I have faith in the American people that they will never let a madman like you into public office. You state that homosexuals should be put into mental hospitals, but I submit that it is you who should be placed there-- in a half-sized cell, never again to see the sunlight.
