Ok, I think I might be the only Gators fan here, but the football talk is slow so I thought i would bring up my beloved team and hope that I might get a response.

The Gators right now have three games left, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, both very winable games. And then the big showdown with FSU. After beating Georgia i think maybe we get in a groove and can beat FSU because they haven't been all that impressive. However, if they get up for the game like they did Miami it could be a different story. Anyway, we could win all three I think, to put us at 9 - 3. Meanwhile Georgia has Ole Miss and Auburn both of which aren't automatic games. So let's say Florida wins out and Georgia losses to Auburn. That puts us in the SEC Championship game. We'd then play LSU or Auburn again (although Alabama is by far the best team in the SEC West) and hopefully beat them after they roll we are on. Then we go to a Bowl game and let's say we win that too.

That would put us at 11 - 3, with wins over the teams that are usually our hardest games (Tennessee, FSU, Georgia, and Auburn who seems to play well against us), we would be SEC Champions and the winner of a bowl game. So if that were to happen a few quesitons arise.

Do people get off Ron Zook's back?

Do we get back into the top 10 with 11 wins or are the two losses to Kentucky and Ole Miss too damaging?

Does Grossman come back next year since he didn't have a stellar year so that he can A) prove himself and B) make his NFL stock rise?

Your not the only Gator fan here.

I think that Ron Zook will definitely be given the time he needs to stock the team with HIS players if he can either win the SEC or beat FSU. Beating Georgia, Auburn, Tennessee, and FSU in one year is nothing to be taken lightly.

Also, if the Gators win out, they will most likely wind up right around #10 I believe.

Go Gators!

I must really have a faulty memory. Didn't LSU go into the Swamp and blow out Florida? Why would they have a better shot on a neutral field than they had on their home field?

A) It's hard to to beat any team twice in one year, although the same thing could be said for Auburn against Florida
B) Since their last lost I don't think LSU is as determined.
C) Rex Grossman wasn't 100%, and that makes a big enough difference in itself
D) Florida MIGHT be coming off a big win against FSU
E) I don't know how long he is injured but Matt Mauck is injured, and his replacement Marcus Randall has 4 interceptions to 0 touchdowns
F) Florida IS the better team despite what the result of the their last meeting was.

Well, I now think Florida will win the SEC afterall. Georgia choked big time last week, and it wouldn't surprise me to see them colapse. If they do win out, they will be in the top 10 too, and that should be plenty to take some of the heat off Zook.

How can they be the better team when they lose at home by 30? If it was at LSU, perhaps, but they got waxed on their home field. That, and after today, LSU might be one of those teams that have everything break their way.

Has anyone's thoughts changed after the almost monumental defeat to my Dores on Sat.???

(not meant as a flame, just some healthy post game chatter)

Vandy will beat UT this year...mark my words.

Every few years, Vandy plays UF tough. In UF's 96 NC year, the Gators only won 28-21, with the game in doubt almost for the entire game. In 1999, UF barely beat Vandy 13-6 IN GAINESVILLE. A close game to Vandy doesn't scare me.

I think UF still has a good shot to beat SC, and hopefully UGA will choke against Auburn.

As I recall in that '99 game in Gainsville, Vandy receiver Tavarus Hogans caught a ball at around the 10 yard line and was tackled a few yards from the endzone as time expired. Another in a line of close defeats for the Commodores.

For the most part, Vandy fans respect and generally like the Gators due to our equally intense hatred for the Vawls. I'll laugh my ass off watching them play in the Music City Bowl. And they used to think they were too good for the Citrus Bowl...

Because the best team does not always win, if that were the case then Georgia, Oklahoma and Notre Dame would all still be undefeated.

Take a look at Monday Night Football last night. The Raiders killed the Broncos. Are the Broncos a better team? No. Sometimes teams DO have a bad day. And sometimes teams DO play better than they actually are. That's what makes sports entertaining is that better teams don't always win.

Plus like I already said, Grossman wasn't a hundred percent which makes a huge difference in the game. He pretty much has willed the Gators to win in all of their big games. Hopefully Georgia will lose so you can see that Florida can beat LSU. Because after the lucky win by LSU this week I doubt that Auburn can win the West. LSU will probably fall against Alabama this week to tie LSU and Auburn, but then Auburn also has to play Bama.

And yeah, Vandy plays Florida close a lot so i'm not surprised at all.
