Good wrestling? I'll grant you some of the undercard, but have you forgotten who the two champs are???

I'd wager that a lot of the nefarious internet crowd ain't buying this one because they don't want to support a murder/rape angle. Voting with the dollar, and all that. Or is it not okay to do that? Should we just pay our $34.99, bite down on something hard and spread 'em?

I think Brock/Taker will be decent.
Kane/HHH will be decent.
Benoit/Angle v. Rey/Edge will be great
Booker/Goldust v. Jericho/Christian will be great
Flair/RVD will be good
Trish/Victory will be decent
Dawn/Torrie won't be good, but it will be short.

3 matches that have a chance to be really good (I don't care if Flair is old, RVD's tendancy to burst into spots will help cover up when Flair has trouble keeping his ringwork consistant, and Flair still has the ability to pace a match which will cover up the transitory period between RVD's spots. A good combination)

3 matches that have the chance to be at least decent (Don't start in about how Taker/HHH/Brock/Kane can't work a match. Yes they can. Brock and Taker can both brawl and make it look brutal, which is really at the heart of what this HIAC is supposed to be about. HHH/Kane have worked together enough times that they know each other's strengths and weaknesses. Hunter can't carry anybody, but luckily Kane doesn't really need to be carried and as an added bonus he's more fit to wrestle HHH's "brawl brawl bump" style than any of HHH's opponents recently save for Shawn Michaels and before that Rock. With it being a PPV, and all four guys in title matches with one thing or another going against them, I also expect them to pay closer attention to the pacing and spots in their matches. As for Trish/Victoria, I don't think I'd have any trouble in saying that this will be the best women's match in the WWE in months and has the ability to get very good, provided that neither girl allows themselves to get sloppy)

1 bad match (but as I said, it's the TnA, get yourself a drink match. They have one of these on almost every card, and nobody should be shocked to see it here. In fact, you should be glad that they didn't decide that Trish and Victoria would fill this slot. They're pushing part of the women's division!).

Besides, the matches on PPV go longer, and the workers usually work harder than normal. If a PPV isn't worth your time because of some shitty angles, fine, I guess. But I for one am more interested in seeing what alot of these guys (including HHH/Kane and Brock/Taker-without the overbooking) can do with some extra time, motivation, and without storylines there to slow them down.

PREDICTIONS FOR WWE No Mercy
WWE Championship Hell in a Cell: Brock Lesnar [c] def. The Undertaker; Taker takes big bump, is out for 1-2 months, then returns as part of "everyone who got taken out by Brock before he won the title gets another shot at him" angle they should run.
World Championship: Triple H [c] def. Kane; Cheat to win.
World Tag Team Titles: Jericho/Christian [c] def. BookDust; Cheating. Batista costs Booker T the match.
WWE Tag Team Titles: Angle/Benoit def. Edge/Misterio; Duo wins despite taking cheap shots at each other, then attack each other after match.
Women's World Title: Trish [c] def. Victoria; Clean.
Rob Van Dam def. Ric Flair; Clean.
Dawn Marie def. Torrie; Heel turn for Al Wilson

And that's it.

Tori vs. Dawn Marie- PICK: DAWN- I think Dawn rules, Torrie is blah. I'm picking the heel here mostly because I think Trish will keep her title... We might see Old Man Wilson come out and not do anything but Torrie gets distracted Dawn gets a quick pin and leaves by kissing Old Man Wilson on the cheek or we might see more of the Wilson family as Torrie's mom comes to interfere on Torrie's behalf (err no more Wilson's please). But my pick is Dawn with the Old man distraction

Trish vs. Victoria- PICK: TRISH- I wouldn't be shocked or surprised if Vickie wins but I'd put Trish over in this match. Victoria only been full time for a month and Trish just won the thing last month. I would like to see some Mollyferance backfiring (please make her a Face!) causing Victoria to lose and make her more paranoid that the world is against her. Maybe setting up a rematch for the next PPV with a No DQ stip.

Benoit/Angle vs. Edge/Rey-Rey- PICK: BENOIT/ANGLE- Wacky odd couple as champs might work well. But then again one of these two could slip to #1 contendership (unless taker wins or has a rematch...errr). But then again so can Edge. I wouldn't mind Edge/Brock next. So Edge/Rey lose

BookDust vs. Christian/Jericho- PICK: BOOKDUST- Picking the faces cause the world titles seem to be going with heels. This match should be called "3 minute boyz are f-ups so we are going with plan B"

Flair vs. RVD- PICK: RVD- RVD can't beat THEMAN can he beat THE MAN's pimp errrr advisor. I certainly hope so.

HHH vs Kane- PICK: HHH- Well it's sure hard to pick the drunken necophiliac rapist as the winner so I won't.

Taker vs. Brock (HITC): PICK: BROCK- Maybe they should have waited a little longer to get the memory of the UNmemorable H/y2j HITC match before hyping HITC always delivers by golly (no gawd cause cole is hyping it..lol). Oh great Taker has a cast, lets see if we can make his offense even MORE limited.

It's a little strange they are having only 7 matches (2 of them women) Even Trish/Vicki I doubt they go over 6-7 min. I think they have room for 1 more match unless they are going to take 40 minutes hyping how great these world title matches are... Too be honest the build has been awful. The world titles have insane bad story involving "outside" people, necrophilics and casts. Raw-Tags look like a last minute thing cause of the "3 min f-up boyz" not just drop the ball but kicking backwards to their own endzone. RVD/Flair was like "hey remember what happened last month, well hope you do cause that's their build" . The SD tags looks like it's going to be a lot of fun. There some dumb stuff with the women but atleast there seems to have some focus during the month on the SD&Raw women angles. Especially Raw and gotta say I'm a ol' man wilson fan

Dawn v. Torrie : Dawn wins, involves Mr. Wilson somehow.

Trish v. Victoria: Victoria wins, allowing Trish to become face chasing title again.

Benoit/Angle v. Edge/Rey: Edge/Rey wins titles. I think this match's purpose is to have a good match on the card, not for any long-term plans with either of these teams.

Booker/Dust v. Christian/Jericho: either way, this will involve furthering a singles Booker/Jericho fued. Let's say Jericho/Christian retain.

Flair/RVD: Hmm, if RVD wins, will he go straight back to Triple H? No contest.

Triple H/Kane: I have no reason to think Triple H won't win. I think this feud continues as well.

Brock/Undertaker: Brock HAS to win here. This HAS to be the blow-off match, and Brock would be dead if he loses. Under the unwritten WWE rules, since Undertaker was the last to go over in this feud (on Smackdown), Brock will win. If not, then I think everyone will have to agree with all the stuff that's been said about the Undertaker by 'net folks.

I predict that Undertaker will find someway to sell LESS for Brock then he did at Unforgiven. I know, you don't think that could be possible but look at how little Taker sold when HE WASN'T JOBBING! Imagine how little he'll sell if he finally has to lay down and take a pin.

Dawn vs. Torrie, in the night's first shocking female appearance, Torrie's mother runs down and slaps her own daughter allowing Dawn to get the pin. She and Dawn then engage in HLA while Torrie's dad sets up a web-cam.

Trish vs. Victoria
We need a winner I suppose.......
Go with Victoria. Trish will have it back before Spazz makes her return

The Anti-CanAm Connection vs. a 12-yr old and (He's lost his) Edge
Let's hope the ACA destroys the other two. Dueling taps. One off a spear attempt into the Crippler Crossface, the other off an Ankle Lock...

TDPITG vs PTS
Flair needs the win, or much as I hate to say it, needs to really retire. Missed frog splash leads to a figure 4. HHHHHHHH came down and distracted PTS, then plays AA as he holds Flair's hands to give him the needed leverage.

the other tag match
Gold C Coupon Book vs Christian and Chris Yesterday was Jericho
Fans like Book and Gaydust. I don't. Let's hope the Canadians have more than Canadian offense going for them

Broke Lessener Vs. The Underfaker
Broke wins. Your suicide bump comes when Lessener launches Mattitude onto the ramp to try and keep 'faker from destroying Heyman. In the move that gets the biggest pop of the night, he throws too hard, and the impact ends all three of Hardly, Heyman and 'faker

Soap Opera Special Main event
HHHHHHH is about to deliver the knock out sledge hammer blow to Kane. The lights go out. Sounds of scuffling are heard in the ring. When the lights come up there's the obese spirit of Katie FVick doing a rendition of "Night the Lights went out in Georgia" outside the ring. Kane gets the 1-2-3.

from someone who won't be watching:

This card sucks, and the fact that Eddie & Chavo aren't on it is ridiculous.

I'm assuming they'll be involved in the Benoit/Angle match somehow, but that the Guerreros are reduced to a run-in on such a weak show is a bloody joke. [Note to Vince: USE THE TALENT!!]

And Flair/RVD will be further proof (as if we needed it) that Ric should retire. Should have two years ago, in fact.

So drink up, Weiners, and remember: Sopranos and World Series Game 2 are FREE.

Last time I checked my cable bill, I was paying extra for HBO and the Sopranos.

Last time I checked, you had to pay for HBO (and last time I checked Sopranos sucked this year). Not interested in the WS, either really.

And honestly, what good would Eddie and Chavo be on this card? They have NO storyline, that would put them on the card in a match. None at all. Their storyline is with Edge/Rey/Benoit/Angle. That's why they don't have a match. Because the other four people in a six man feud are fighting. Eddie and Chavo are the odd men out. Just like Edge and Rey would have been. Angle and Benoit could have just fought each other, but I appreciate the added build up.

So I guess you could just throw Eddie and Chavo into a match for the sake of putting them in there. But then again, that would be "ridiculous".

Honestly. Bitch bitch bitch bitch. Order the PPV or don't. But why feel compelled to cry that Eddie and Chavo aren't being used when they're part of a bigger feud/angle than just having a throwaway match on PPV?

Exactly my point. The writers couldn't find a way to utilize two of the best workers in the company .... this at a time when the WWE is wringing their hands over low PPV buys and anemic TV ratings.

I'm saving my money and enjoying my Sunday evening. Go thou and do likewise.

PS -- and gee whiz, thanks so much to all the Perry Masons out there for pointing out that, yes, one does indeed have to pay for HBO. The withering sarcasm of the phrase "last time I checked" is just chilling. (brrrrrrrr)

Well, I don't usually watch the GOOD ppvs, so since this doesn't look like a good one I won't be watching it either. Instead i'll be watching Adult Swim on Cartoon Network, but if you want my predictions for THAT then here you go...

On Home Movies:
- Jason will pick his nose
- Brendan will overact in one of his roles
- Coach McGuirk will yell at one of his soccer players

Oblongs & Mission Hill
- I will change the channel to watch the baseball game for a hour

The Brak Show
- Brak will say something stupid
- Zorak will say something evil
- Thundercleese will blow something up

Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law
- Harvey will win his case
- Avenger will make noises
- There will be atleast one scene in that bar

Aqua Teen Hunger Force
- Shake will swim in Carl's pool
- Meatwad will be tricked into doing something
- Frylock will shoot beams out of his eyes

Sealab 2021
- Stormy will say something stupid
- Dr. Quinn will brag about how smart he is
- Captain Murphy will call marco "Fignuts"

Space Ghost Coast to Coast
- Space Ghost will shoot Moltar with his ray bands
- Space Ghost will shoot the guest with his ray bands
- Space Ghost will shoot Zorak with his ray bands

Take that sub space!

Uh....yeah

Do you watch Smackdown?

If you do then you would know that they ARE inolved in a storyline. A good one. A REALLY good one. Unfortunately for them, Edge/Rey/Benoit/Angle are also in it. And, hey, THEY are the ones in the match.

This is NOT a storyline that will get them a match on the PPV, this month. Unless you want them in some nothing match. Which I don't.

Actually, wouldn't it have been cool if the Smackdown! main event last Thursday ended in a draw, so the finals match would be Los Guerreros vs. Benoit and Angle vs. Eddie and Rey? Hey its just an idea. Would've given Eddie and Chavo something to do on the PPV and be involved in a great match, but oh well.

SMACKDOWN MAIN EVENT
WWE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
HECK IN A SEC:
Brock Lesnar VS Grandpa Undertaker
FUZZY SEZ: Well, I'm going to continue to hold onto the "Brock needs this huge win - Taker needs time off - Brock wins" logic that failed me last month. And Matt Hardy takes the big bump.

RAW MAIN EVENT
WCWISH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP/U.S.-EUROCONTINETAL-CORE CHAMPIONSHIP UNIFICATION MATCH:
The Mudering Necrophiliac Rapist VS Kane
FUZZY SEZ: I'm going to go against the grain here - I see a Kane win. The length of his title reign will rival his first 23-hour one in '98, but I just have this gut feeling he's going to pull of the upset.

SMACKDOWN TAG TOURNAMENT FINALS:
Two Of The Only Reasons To Watch WWE Progamming Anymore VS The Other Two Reasons
FUZZY SEZ: Just what I said in the Vegas Odds folder - Angle and Benoit turn on each other but win the belts anyway.

RAW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP:
The Other Canadian Chrises VS Ssssssssssssssssssssssssucka
FUZZY SEZ: Jericho and Christian just won it, but I can't see Booker and Goldust getting burned again (and perrenial loser is part of Jericho and Christian's gimmick anyway.) Booker and Goldust win the belts, finally.

I THOUGHT THEY TOTALLY CANCELLED THIS PROGRAM MATCH:
Rob Van Dam VS Ric Flair
FUZZY SEZ: No matter what happens, everyone will say that RVD's being BURIED~! Van Dam wins, goes on to face HHH at Survivor Series. Wins there, too. Everyone still complains.

WOMENS CHAMPIONSHIP:
Trish Stratus VS Victoria
FUZZY SEZ: This, sadly enough, is probably going to be the second best match on the card. It could go either way. I'll just say Victoria for the title change.

PISSBREAK MATCH:
Torrie Wilson VS Dawn Marie
FUZZY SEZ: Who gives a shit?

THEORETICAL CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH:
Jamie Noble VS Tie-jiri
FUZZY SEZ: If it happens, Noble retains.

Jamie (K)noble vs. Tajiri

How sad is it that the 2nd best matchup, on paper, was something thrown together at the last minute? Wasn't the cruiserweight division supposed to be exciting and have all this great wrestling. All the championship is now is a backdrop to the continual Springer episode that is (K)noble/Nidia. Anyway, Nidia will chew gum, someone will yell "Tarantula" and hopefully, Tajiri spews the green mist. As for who wins? Ah, who the hell cares at this point, but I doubt they give Tajiri any momentum. (K)noble.

Torrie Wilson vs. Dawn Marie.

How sad is it that Al Wilson/Dawn Marie isn't even the most implausable couple I've seen in wrestling in the last 5 years? McMahon/Trish, McMahon/Kiebler (sense a pattern?), Kane/Tori. Well, at least they have more onscreen chemistry than Guerrero/Chyna. Anyway, expect several blown moves, a lot of "HLA" chants and Good Old Al to be involed. Torrie wins (why not?).

Trish Stratus vs. Victoria

How sad is it that this is probably one of the better matches on this card? Plausible storyline, good brawling to set it up, good workers. Quick, HHH, hold these two down! Expect good ringwork, decent heat, and for Lawler to ignore all that and scream "Puppies!" every 3 seconds. Victoria wins.

Booker/Goldust vs. Jericho/Christian

I don't even where to start with this, but here goes:

So Booker and Goldust, two of the most over guys in the company, go to their home state to job cleanly to two fat Samoans to build up their rep as threats as tag teams terrors and threats to Kane/Hurricane, so the next logical step is to give the titles to two guys who teamed once before they won and then they have to defend the titles to the afformentioned over guys, who last time they tagged together (in their home state) they lost to two fat guys, who were handled easily by Kane? OK, gotcha.

So, expect everyone to be pissed that they aren't seeing Booker/Jericho, Goldust to play Ricky Morton and Christian to wonder what the hell happened. Jericho/Christian retain.

Edge/Mysterio vs. Angle/Benoit

5 STARS!!!!! Sorry, channeling Scott Keith.... Actually, this will be the best match on the card, but considering that all 4 of these guys should be in the main event, this seems like the biggest waste. Anyway, expect great wreslting, good commentary by Cole/Tazz (Jesus, who ever thought....) and some sort of screwy run-in to ruin it. Edge/Mysterio, just so they can feud with the Guerreros. Angle/Benoit, part 95 at SurSer.

RVD vs. Someone's Grandfather.

I have this odd feeling that Baustita might debut here and help Flair win, as all reports I've read is that they are going to be part of the new Horseman, along with HHH and Randy Orton. This match is no good to anyone, cause if Flair wins, no one cares and if RVD wins, well, who cares, look who he beat. And everyone thought that Bischoff did a great job burying this guy. At least he never jobbed him to Rico. Anyway, expect Flair to screw up his flop, RVD to sell NOTHING (just watch, Flair will work the knee for 5 minutes, then RVD will do backflips) and some chops. Flair, with Baustita's help.

HHH vs. Kane.

Well, hasn't the buildup for this just been incredible. Steamboat/Savage? Hogan/Warrior? Austin/Rock? Nothing compare to this? I mean, all the other feuds had heat and something silly like "Hey, these guys hate each other" or "I want his belt". Not a trace of necrophelia or drunken burnt guys. HHH, that cerebral assasin, probably has a plan and I guessing it involves a sledgehammer. I, for one, can't wait for these guys to invoke the memories of their past battles, like the Chain match last year or their match for Chyna at Wrestlemania. Expect NO heat, a lot of use of the knee and an end no one wants to see. Kane wins, further devaluing that piece of tin.

Brock Lesnar vs. Undertaker.

My only question is this. Who would YOU take, Tracy or Sara? Nice to know that after Taker stuffed Warrior in all those bodybags and caskets, he was getting some good trim. Nice to know that the WWE trust these guys enough to sell this match on its merits alone and not have any frivolous subplots that add nothing to it. Anyway, expect punching (lots and lots of punching), Matt Hardy to take a huge bump and both of them to bleed. Give them credit, they do that well. Katie Vick rises from the dead, chairshots Taker 1500 times for being a no-selling hick, Brock retains.
