Given that statement, I'd say that it is pretty apparent that you haven't watched any CMT lately. "I'm Gonna Miss Her" is one of the funniest videos of all time, especially if you catch all of the inside jokes in the ESPN bottom line segments. I'll grant you that most country artists don't spend as much on their videos as do most pop/rock artists, but that doesn't mean that country videos can't be good. For other examples, see most anything from Travis Tritt, Sara Evans, Nickel Creek, BR5-49, Mark McGuinn, and any number of others. And please, with the exception of about 4, maybe 5, videos, everything else done by Garth Brooks falls squarely into the camp of pretentious POS. Just MODO.

Fully two-thirds of videos on CMT look like hair-metal videos from the 80s. Same attitude, same lighting, same band poses, same swooping camera work. And don't get me started on how bland the songs are. Mainstream country is horrible, horrible, horrible.
Why can't CMT play some Neko Case instead of so much Toby Keith?

I'm also a big country music fan, but the videos have never really impressed me all that much over the years. Toby Keith usually makes some entertaining(funny) videos.
Ones I've seen recently that I've liked are the Dixie Chicks' "Long Time Gone" and Gary Allan's "The One." Both have that Southwstern/Mexican theme I find cool. | Net Hack Slasher

And actually I get into some of the songs as well. Dixie Chicks have some decent stuff. But again no one plays up hotness = push. Like female country scene.
Saying that all men country singers piss me off and get on my nerves (lol). Well maybe not all maybe 1 or 2 is passable but the rest lets get rid of them and keep the ladies! | | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
