The Ottawa Senators begin the 02-03 season tonight against the Devils. Odds in vegas have the Sens at 17-1 odds to win the cup.
Put your money on the Senators, nobody can stop them. Not even the dreaded Leafs!

That'll be the day....
My Sens hatred will continue throughout the 2002-03 season - and with any luck my dreams of seeing the inevitable fate of the Montreal Expos placed on the Sens instead will occur. | Oliver

on ESPN some guy last week rated the Rangers as the #1 team in the East. Ofcourse his motivation for this choice started with a big IF....
If they can get their shit together and keep it together they might go places for once..yet it *is* a big if...
The season already annoys me. Mighty Ducks score 4 goals and my true hero Paul Kariya doesn't share in the fun..Damnit dude! Score! Win! Raise the price tag on my signed rookie card you sumbitch! | dunkndollaz

We're in first place! We're in first place! Put the champagne on ice, it's over. Stanley Cup is coming to Columbus. Take it to the bank.
Seriously though, after game #1, I've gotta say just the simple upgrade in speed is amazing. Adding Rick Nash and Andrew Cassels, along with Sanderson being healthy, and suddenly we actually play like a real NHL team. Luke Richardson and Scott Lachance have sured up the blue line and if Marc Denis plays to his potential they could be good enough to be one of those Western Conference teams that would have made the playoffs if they were in the East...or they could finish last in the conference. It's kinda thin ice. They open with 9 out of 12 at home, so this is actually a key month for the Jackets. | Freeway

And this is the year we kick The Curse of The Cup and get into the playoffs and win a damned series! Just remember that the Atlanta/Calgary Flames have missed the playoffs only a scant 9 seasons since 1972 [1972, 1974, 1992 & 1997-NOW]. We were great, and a bunch of crappy trades by Doug "Tool" Risebrough, but now we're recovered and heading back for Lord Stanley's Cup!
