Hennig used a roll of quarters to win the title. The AWA led an investigation into the tainted win, but couldn't find enough evidence and had to begrudgingly let Hennig keep the title. Hennig sucked last night in TNA, by the way. He looked so happy to be there (sarcasm).

I mean, how many times in Lawler's decade in the WWF have they actually discussed his time as AWA World Champ?

He was one of Verne's last champs - toward the end, before he came to the WWF as Mr. Perfect. Only Larry Legend, Jerry the King and Mister Saito after Curt before Verne took his ball and went home in '91.
