Does this mean he missed meetings, or was smoking crack again? Anybody know? Plus, if I were Chicago, I would be fining him! Surely they were smart enough to put SOMETHING in his contract to keep him straight! | Promote this thread! | | DarrylTheHitman

I can't pretend to understand what it's like to be in his situation but I feel truly sorry for him. He's already suspended without pay so what need is there to fine him to boot? Keep in mind I've been a loyal Calgary fan since I was a little boy (I'm 26 now) so I have difficulty bringing myself to be hard on him. | dMp

Yup, 'cause he doesn't seem to get it.
He keeps turning himself in, but then goes right back to the lifestyle he had before turning himself in. I think he needs to realize that to get this behind him, he needs to take the time away from hockey to do it!!! | Freeway

| #8 Posted on 9.10.02 1539.28 Reposted on: 9.10.09 1542.09 | Theo Fleury's career & drug problems:
1986-1989: Junior [Begins using nose candy, possibly] 1989-1998: Calgary Flames [As he became a star, is known to have used nose candy. Assumedly Flames management knew, but they were WINNING dammit, so they let it slide and told him (probably) to get it fixed on his own.] 1999: Colorado Avalanche [Gets traded] 1999-2002: New York Rangers [Problems FLARE UP with huge NYC market. Goes into rehab.] 2002-2003: Chicago Blackhawks [Slightly smaller market, slightly smaller problems...]
What a waste. He was damned good before his problems get the better of him. Here's hoping he can clean up and finish up his career wearing the flaming C. | DarrylTheHitman

| #9 Posted on 9.10.02 2227.10 Reposted on: 9.10.09 2229.02 | | I think you're missing the point here, guys. It doesn't matter if he can finish his career or not--it matters if he can finish his life. Sadly, he doesn't seem to realize that. I hadn't heard anything about his problems prior to being with the Rangers. I never really noticed him acting erratically until the whole mess with Graham James, his former Junior coach and then co-owner in the Calgary Hitmen, being revealed as a sexual abuser. | Socks
