Moe's right on that count. You look throughout history, and you'll see that Israel (and the Jewish nation as a whole) are not people you want to mess around with.

Iseral was formed and the UN recognized it. All as a part of a peace settlement. Dont have the time to look up the particulars, but it wasnt like the Jews said "here is our country, these are our borders" and the US said "Yep, I'll buy that".

Dont just make it out that the US is and was the only nation to agree that the Jewish people have thier own land and nation.

Unfortunately, it just seems that way since some of the continental European nations(France, Germany) are insistant upon punishing and handcuffing Israel for defending themselves.

I said the US was the first. I never said only. Please learn how to read.

Once you have learned how to read, look here: http://www.palestinefacts.org/pf_independence_recognition_us.php

Do you have anything to say anywhere that isn't an insult to other weiners. God, most of the Conservatives don't do this to most of the Liberals and vice versa.

You know, if a thread actually gets to 25 posts without the words "Liberal" or "Conservative" being used, I wish you wouldn't feel like you HAD to come in here and start throwing them around. It tends to give off the impression that you're not actually reading the thread in question, but rather throwing out cheap remarks in effort to score points somewhere with someone, and that gets really annoying and really old, really fast.

Ah- the main problem with a two party system... the constant polarization and fanatacim....
I will agree (and admit to contributing to it) that the bickering can get old... and so do the insults-
Why can't debates be an exchange of ideas rather that "Idiotic Liberal" or "Wacko Conservative!?" I mean, in general, neither is true.... just defend your IDEA and move on...

Actually, the problem isn't exactly that Pool Boy. Conservatives and Liberals are slightly different than 'conservatives' and 'liberals' (note the lower and uppercase). I find that a lot of Democrats aren't true Liberals, yet they remain on the leftwing of the spectrum. Vice-versa for the Republicians. But each happen to be in the lowercase area.

Although the multiparty system is cool, we've got a simular problem.

Canadian Alliance: Rightwing (entrenched in western Canada, but no where else).
Liberal Party: Centre (ie; jump all around).
NDP: Left (Atlantic Canada, little else).
BQ: Quebec Sepratists (Quebec. Even then they don't have much sometimes).
Progressive Conservatives: Used to be rightwing now more right-centre.

Out of all those parties....TWO of them have only been in power in Canadian history.

Still, that's a lot more than what we got. And this serious multi-party system has only been around for 10-15 years or so (essentially since the Mulrony debacle), so I imagine it's only a matter of time before the Liberals lose an outright majority and some interesting things start happening. Heck, maybe even the P.C. will get its act back together. And one of those two parties that has been in power in the past (P.C.'s) is currently the weakest out of all five. Compare that to our system, where there hasn't been a third party as strong as your third-strongest party (the NDP currently I guess) in about 140 years.
