Talk about a disaster. Did Rivera even pitch? Oy, what Yankee pitcher DIDN'T suck ass?
Talk about no clutch hitting - I have it on the radio in the 8th, Posada up, one run in on a wild pitch, Giambi on third, Bernie on 2B, 3-1 to Jorge....if he walks and Mondesi hits one out, hey wow, 9-8. I go in to pick up a pizza, come out.....9-4.
It is the sour grapes talking, but baseball season officially ended today.
Let me also take my hat off to the Angels. Eckstein, Garrett, Darrin, Glaus, Salmon, and that 20-year old releif pitcher who was friggin throwing peas...that is a no-shit team. I think that the Yanks played like ass, and that even their lone win in the series left a sour taste. That fact stated, the Angels won not only because the Yanks poor play, but because they played incredibly. | Promote this thread! | | David Adams

OK, that needs to be clarified. I bet a friend of mine that if the Red Sox got farther into the playoffs than the Yankees, he would have to wear a Red Sox shirt for 24 hours, but if it goes the other way, I have to wear a Yankees shirt. Now he's got his nice little Alfonso Sucksaloto shirt for me to wear and the Yankees just lost. Hey, the Yankees lost! WAHOO! | spf

I'm sorry, but this couldn't happen to a nicer team. The best team money can buy apparenly couldn't figure out to pull David "I fucked the White Sox over oh so bad" Wells out while he was getting shelled and maybe put in Weaver. you remember Weaver, the starter you had to trade for so he could languish in the pen? And can we now begin to say that Jason Giambi is to playoff baseball as Ted McGinley is to tv shows? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Sorry, that just slipped out there.
Only downside to the Yanks losing in the first round is now all my rooting interest is gone, as generally come playoff time I root for whomever the Yanks play each round. Now there's no one to hold my interest the same way. Go Twinkies I guess. | SerWolfe

Actually, PBJ&E goes well with broiled crow sauteed in a most delightful brandy sauce.
I have been moping all day, but I guess since I can't root for the Angels, and I have no reason to like the Twins ('cept if they win it all, I could have said "Bah, my Yanks beat those chumps 6 of 6 in the season), I will let my money ride on the great Tino Bambino. I hate LaRussa, I was never a Kile fan, I can't stand JD Drew or Edmonds....
...but Constantino Martinez is second on my list behind the immortal Donnie Baseball. I ain't gonna watch, but go Tino! | Big Bad

So barring that, hmmmm... Braves-Angels or Braves-Twins. I don't particularly care for either the Cardinals or the Giants. Although daaamn, if Mark McGuire were still around, it would've been cooler than all hell to see his team take on Barry Bonds' team to decide the National League champion.
If the Braves don't make it to the World Series, I'll root for the AL team.
