As sick as it [the premise, not OFB :P] sounds, I'm agreeing here... only because the way TE2 was transformed into a Bunim-Murray Production. I mean, a three-way on Real World: Las Vegas... they have to mention how the house was harmed, yes? | shea

I always figured that was the reason why they made them get jobs, because the first few groups seemed content to sit around on their asses. That's what I'd do, if I lived somewhere, rent free
Eliminating a cast member from the whole thing would be pretty tricky, I'd think. And besides, the stuff has gotten waaaaaay sensational (watch the first episode of RR Las Vegas... sheesh!). Okay, more sensational.

It doesnt really make sense to me because they have so much footage to work with, why deny the cast the ability to watch "Friends" or something?
Im sure they wouldnt try to totally eliminate her from all footage. Im sure after she has her meltdown, theyll just say shes unable to continue and leave it at that. Im sure they wont show her flipping out for legal reasons among others.

I totally agree. I see them keeping her in, then when she SNAPS, they won't show any of it, they'll just have all the trainers and Big will give a brief synopsis, and some of thier feelings, accompanied by some real sappy music, and in less than 3 minutes later, move on like nothing happened... | DrOp

I seriously fail to see what's so funny about someone having a psychiatric breakdown. Please don't attempt to explain the humor to me. I'm sure you'd want us to broadcast your worst moments for the big ole rating pop as well. | vsp

The notion that someone on an MTV "Reality" show -- an I-wanna-be-a-WWE-wrestler show, at that -- had the least bit of dignity in the FIRST PLACE... now, THAT'S funny.

Thanks, VSP. Nice to know somebody gets it.
It's simple, DrOp. The fact that I wouldn't want my worst moments broadcast on national TV is what prevents me from signing up to be on these Reality Television shows.
And I've got no sympathy for the neurotic exhibitionists that DO sign up. That bed they're sleeping in? THEY made that bed.
Hell, the producers of the friggin' show don't even have sympathy for these people, why should I?

Shea, this is the most beautifully concise statement that has ever been made about reality TV shows. THANK YOU.

| #34 Posted on 8.10.02 1029.39 Reposted on: 8.10.09 1029.40 | 1) Well, I've learned one thing from this thread: All that Real World / Road Rules crap was much, much too important in the formative years of this gen of pro wrestling fans. How the hell could you even stand to watch a few minutes of one, after the first few series? You haven't had enough roommate troubles of your own? You actually found any of these people interesting? Feh.
2) She is/was a SEMI-FINALIST? No way in hell she's 'edited out.' Their only choice would be to back up, select another fourth semi-finalist, and take it from there. Recall the heavy emphasis on the last two rounds, stretching them out for three or four shows? She's in 'em, up to the point of the break, or they re-shoot. | | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
