Still, I beleive that Stampede is one of the best indy promotions out there, giving fans great contests every other week.
I went into tonight's show with my expectations high. The last couple shows were awesome and *almost* everything seemed to click. Tonight, however, seemed rushed and uninspired.
Every match (I think) had someone running around ringside stealing heat away from the workers in the ring. I found it very distracting. Specifically, the character in the main event (I don't recall his name), and Pat Myers, who decided it would be fun to get into a fight with a fan.
I noticed, as well, that there was a serious lack of faces. It's never a good thing when you have 3 matches where all the workers are heels.
The matches themselves were good. Everyone worked fairly well with eachother, with exception to Pat Myers and Jack, who were constantly botching spots, and dropping one-another on their heads. After this evening, I will be very suprised if I see Pat back at another show in the near future.
T.J. Wilson and Dave Swift, to me, sticks out as being the best match on the card. It ran almost 20 minutes, and was full of great mat work, and great psychology. I, however, thought that the double-countout ending was rather weak.
And the main event, Bruce Hart and T.J. vs. Johnny Devine and Juggernaught was quite good. It ran almost 40 minutes, and it gave JD a great chance to really show off just how charismatic he can be in the ring. A lot of people compair his character and charisma to Jericho, but I don't see the similarity at all; he's much better.
I applaud the efford that the athletes gave, but I beleive the booking needs to be givin more thought in the future. | Promote this thread! | | Freeway

What's admission to the shows? I'll try my hardest to make it to a show.
Maybe the Wienervillage people from calgary can hook up for a keg or two afterwards?

And I don't know if Pat's related to Duke. I don't even know who Duke is. And Pat's real name is Ian. ... His last name might be Myers... don't ask me, 'cause I didn't ask him, so I don't know. He's been pissed about something lately, though... I think it has something to do with him losing his girlfriend... | | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
