For some reason this reminds me of "Tounces The Driving Cat" from SNL. Something so sweet and cudly is there, suddenly its "LOOK OUT!!!" and people crash and plunge to their deaths in a twisted, fiery wreck. I guess I shouldn't be laughing though since people have apparently lost many a loved one that way.

You learn something new everyday.

In fairness, the body count's a little higher on the deer side, as they don't fare too well in the collisions either. It's not as if deer are perched up in clock towers with sniper rifles, waiting for hapless humans to pass by.

It took a helluva lot of effort to find this link in my old bookmark files :

Killer Deer

Of course, the site has been off-line for several years now (hence the "Internet Archive" shortcut) and the images don't work ... but you still get the idea.

Deer are such a problem here in Jersey. I live in the suburbs now and my immediate area is a bunch of apartment/town house complexes on top of each other. There are deer on our freaking sidewalks! They are such a road hazzarad here. Occasionally you'll see one that got PASTED by a big semi on the highway. i'm talking red streaks for over a hundred feet and big blobs of ground chuck all over the road.

Way back when I was in grade school, probably around 20 years a go, my sister and I were waiting for the school bus at the end of our driveway at our house in beautiful southern jersey. we lived in the sticks and deer were all over the place. anyway, we are watching the bus approaching from the right and then we hear "BAM!!!" from our left and a dragging sound and breaks squealing. We spin around and see some dude in a big car dragging a deer with it's head stuck in his radiator. so the bus pulls up and we cross the road and i see the blood leaking out of poor little bambi's head. apparently the guy felt horrible for doing that like right in front of us. i'm still trying to figure out if it had a lasting impression on me at that young age.

No, it's not. I deer hunt all the time. I killed a 170 lbs. buck last monday. It's actually quite fun. And tasty too :)

I've never killed a deer though I have hunted off-and-on for several years. If I was on death row and could have one final meal, it would be fried venison with mashed potatoes, white gravy and homemade biscuits. HOO HAW

As to deer being dangerous, I can attest to that. Here in Oklahoma, it is a well-known fact that you can hit a cow and be (for the most part) okay, but if you hit a deer, you are TOAST. Something about their skeletal structure, I would surmise, makes them really tear up a car.

Toonces was SNL's best recurring skit. I would watch the show again if they brought him back...and drove Jimmy Fallon off a cliff for real.

Everyone should respect QOTSA. In fact, I might not whine about my school so much if instead of the moronic "bobcat-sticking-its-paw-out-of-a-circle" logo, it used the QOTSA logo. Then again, that probably wasn't an option.

Most of the "long-legged rats" that live in my area don't even bother to move from the side of the road when you drive by they are so used to cars and people. They have broken through my fence and eaten all of my flowers and plant life in my backyard and I have had to pull 3 deer ticks off my kids in the past 3 months. It's no wonder I gave permission to a hunter to hunt the deer on my land.

I hate deer.
