If they were going to do a throw-away Columbus Day show, wouldn't it have made more sense to do it Columbus Day Weekend? No explanation for what type of deal Adrianna made, the Meadow storyline wasn't interesting last week, but considering she had run out of the house before registering last week, an explanation of how the family reacted to her returning to school would have been helpful. Hopefully, the previews are accurate this week, as next week's show will have to really be special to make up for the crapfest they provided this week. | Promote this thread! | | David Adams

Personally, I think she's useless and would have preferred Richie stick around while she got killed in the second season.

Adriana looked really nervous... it sure seems like she's wired. And the Silvio/Tony tension continues to grow. (I am told that, in the Last Supper-esque meeting scene, Silvio is sitting at Judas' position. Still, somehow I think he doesn't go through with any major betrayal.) | OlFuzzyBastard

| #4 Posted on 30.9.02 1531.31 Reposted on: 30.9.09 1533.11 | Stupid fucking Janice... The girl's got a death wish, I swear. (I think she's awesome, by the way, if only because I've got one of her in my family too.) And if Ralphie does something to Tony's sister, well, that's the end of him, too, isn't it? (That's the biggest problem with this show. It's such a strong ensamble, I don't want anyone to die. Well, I could do without Adrianna. Or Furio. But aside from that...)
"What the fuck ever happened to Gary Cooper?!"
"I think he's dead, T."
EDIT: I also can't *stand* Dr. Melphi, but I understand her importance to the storyline. I think it's mostly because, in real life, Lorraine Bracco is the biggest idiot on the face of the earth.

I didn't think it was that bad... then again, I didn't know who the hell Karen was until the funeral. And was there any explanation in the past about why Ralphie (it was him, right?) got dissed mightily at the funeral?
Speaking of which, I will never be able to look at anything with his face again after that first scene with him and Janice. That certainly came out of nowhere. | OlFuzzyBastard

Doesn't it seem possible they might be hinting that Janice is going to turn over a new leaf, maybe hook up with someone who is nice to her....like Bobby? I mean, the guy's wife just died, so it wouldn't happen anytime soon, I would think, but it could. That sucked that his wife died. That has to develop into something, I would think, like turning him bitter, or having him start whacking dudes....I dunno.
I also thought it was weird that they guy who writes the show only wrote himself to say "Gary Cooper was gay?"
Did anyone else catch that Patsy and Chris seemed to get along fine? I thought a week ago Chris slugged him for stealing the tiles....
Ya think Johnny Sack is really going to whack Ralphie? Ralphie has a lot of enemies, but he coulda been whacked after Tony punched him last season. Ralphie is a pretty strong character too - I kinda look forward to see what kinda dumb funny crap he is gonna come up with.
I don't ever remember seeing Silvio's wife before...she is kinda hot for an older chick. It would be nice if you didn't have to say to yourself "Who the fuck is that?" at least once an episode, and then run to HBO.com or something to figure it all out.
Who was the Spanish guy who almost jacked Hesh? WTF was that all about?
Totally agree with TD's comments about a timefiller....not terrible, but it wasn't one for the ages. | Jobberman

Also, I don't know what they have in mind for Bobby Baccala. He was a goof in the second season, became a more sympathetic character in the third, and now he is an even bigger part of the show.

Well, one would hope so, but I think this and the Meadow episode last week are establishing a pattern for Soprano women--they claim they're gonna get out from under the thumb of the family life (*ahem*) but eventually slide back into the same role they tried to escape.
I *think,* anyways. | OlFuzzyBastard

Oh no, Janice definitely wants to hook up with Bobby. That much is obvious. Thing is, it's been proven that Ralphie, how shall I put this?..., doesn't take rejection well. | jfkfc
