Moss reportedly bumped officer with his car
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Associated Press
MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota Vikings receiver Randy Moss was arrested Tuesday after being accused of bumping a police traffic officer with his car.
Moss' car also was impounded, police spokeswoman Cyndi Barrington said, without disclosing further details.
WCCO-TV reported Moss bumped the officer with his car in downtown Minneapolis, ignoring her signals to stop. The officer was not seriously hurt, the station reported.
Moss has been in trouble before on and off the field since he was drafted in 1998. He squirted a referee with a water bottle in 1999, and abused corporate sponsors on the team bus in 2001.
The Vikings are off to an 0-3 start, their worst since 1967, and Moss caught just four passes for 16 yards in Sunday's loss to Carolina. Promote this thread! | | Stephanie

Then, he dogs his way through an 0-3 start, during which his effort has been half-assed at best (ESPN broke it down really nicely on Sunday's SportsCenter). Now, he tries his hand at running over a traffic officer - and was probably surprised when the police showed up to haul him away. For this, he's being paid $75 million over an eight-year contract, and being called the most important member of the Vikings (which must thrill Daunte Culpepper no end).
Now ESPN is reporting that the Minneapolis police plan to charge Moss with felony second-degree assault. I guess that Moss is trying to prove all those people who called him a felon correct.

Also, I would have paid Cash Money to see Culpepper jump on Moss and start whupping his ass. With an added bonus that not one of the Vikes would stop him from breaking Randy's neck. | haz

However, nothing will come of this. He will get off of the charge by paying some fine and doing some sort of community service. The Vikings will continue to put his sorry ass on the field.
Should they deal him?? Probably, but who the hell wants that cancer on their team???

Considering they won't let him out on bail, I doubt that he's going to get off easy. Remember, if he hit a normal person, the cops would have no problem letting him go, but he hit a cop, thus, they will go after him. | brick

At least, that would seem to be the obvious solution to me.

Hmm, reminds me of something else that happened earlier this year. I can just see this conversation happening;
Moss on the phone: "Man, thanks for those legal tips they really helped me out!"
On the other end, Iverson: "I told you I always have the answer!"

she has no police powers. she's just a gal who controls traffic. Here in maryland, they have police powers, because they usualy are police. my elementary school crossing guard, who i just saw the other day and is pushing 80, used to carry a gun under her orange vest... |
