RVD got WHOOOO... i mean, SCREWWWWED! It's time for The Great Thomas RAW Report!

Trish vs. Victoria vs. Molly: Hey, they DO care about women's wrestling! Trish won.

Rikishi's Arse Strikes Back: YES! G-TV LIVES! I knew that fat lesbian was Rikishi all along!

Booker T Gets His 3 Minutes: Didja hear that? Vince ended all wrestlers jumping ship! No more confusion! WOO-HOO!

Dreamer Goes to School: What the hell? This isn't even a match! This had so much match potential!

Richards vs. Orton: Did J.r. call the King a "dirty old man"? Great match, too bad the fans were dead throughout the whole thing.

Jerry "The King" Lawler: HOLY SHIT! Lawler was tolerable! He even kept the pervert jokes to a minimum! HOLY SHIT!

No Mercy: Kane beats up Pete Rose. Again.

The Union Underground: They sound much better live!

Flair: Hey, the Wieners were right! Flair IS gonna be Trippulaytch's manager! I especially liked how he yelled "YOU CAN'T WIN, RVD! YOU CAN'T WIN!" I believe him.

Bubba Tough: "This is NOT the Trippulaytch show! I'll be damned if I have to sit through another Trippulaytch speech!" Bubba is now the greatest promo-maker in Wienerville.

Jericho vs. Goldust: Jericho won.

Kane/Hurricane vs. Un-Americans: OMG NEW CHAMPS! NEW TAG CHAMPS! OMG! OMG!!!

Booker T vs. Rico: SQUAAAAASH MAAAAATCH! Wow. Goldust managed to fend off BOTH Rosey and Jamal AND Rico! Amazing!

The Main Event: Meet Kevin Nash at... somewhere! God, this crowd is DEAD! Anyway, Flair won.

That's all for this week. Until then, Good Night, take care of yourselves, and unless I beat Final Fantasy X, I can't play Kingdom Hearts. That is all.

Looks like Bubba injured his arm while lifting up HHH, leading to the blown table spot. Allow me to be the first to call Torn Bicep #4.

Damnit, I was hoping to be the first to call it. I mean, my first thought was for HHH, because he took the corner of that table like a champ. It was like Billy Gunn blowing a fisherman's on him. But then I realized the camera got off Bubba in a shot. Kudo for RVD to pull the ending off, though, in the midst of the chaos.

Jerry Lawler had a hell of a funny line during the main event ...

JL: C'mon, EVERYBODY wants to be Ric Flair!
(Ric Flair has shoulder rammed into corner post)
JL: Well, maybe not right now ...

Plus, somebody actually punked out HHH! Yay!

Wondering how long it's going to take before people start saying Ric Flair is holding the younger wrestlers down ...
I didn't see most of RAW, so I'm just gonna ask ... how is it HurriKane was on my screen when Vince put a stop to roster jumps? Speaking of which, I cheered like crazy when the Big Red Machine started making out with Terri, though the fact that he talks now is messing with my suspension of disbelief ...

I was marking out for RVD to hit the five-star on Flair through the table and probably felt as robbed when it DIDNT happen as those complaining about the not-so-delivered HLA with Steph on the PPV (geez, settle down Scherer.) But it was good overall.

Nowinski and Dreamer was totally gratuitous, but awesome. And this was the LOSER of Tough Enough?

Buh Buh is my star of the night for The Triple H Show promo.

JR gets the retro reference of the night when he called Goldust the grandson of a plumber.

The stupid question of the night was when I asked myself Exactly how does the Hurricane fit into RAW? How silly of me. More comedy, less wrestling. Duh. Oh well, at least Hurricane gets mic time again, and theres no more jumping.

Frankly, I find it very disconcerting to see Kane smile. But at least he can kiss chicks and eat his Ravioli now.

Uh, wouldnt Rico v Goldust and Booker T v Jericho make a lot more sense? You knowWRESTLING wise?

Production lession #6349: To get your crappy band over on a live wrestling show, insert Stacy Kiebler and a few other hot asses.

Good show overall. Not GREAT, but better than the past two weeks.

I marked out like a little girl when I saw the Hurricane come out as the mystery partner. Even if it makes no sense as roster jumps were supposed to be suspended. Icing on the cake that one of my personal favorites won the tag straps, too!

Bischoff said he made a couple deals before the contracts were sealed in his promo at the beginning, hence Orton/Hurricane.

I hope Bubba's alright, he's like Dusty with workrate!11

This show lost my attention and was never able to fully regain it.

I knew they were sending Kane in a goof ball direction. How many comedy acts does Raw really need.

I hope J.R. wipes his mouth after the verbal blowjob he gave Randy Orton. Orton is alright but Richards made him look a lot better than he really is.

Dancing Divas and music? Who thought up that crap?

Raw is almost seems to be marketing to a younger audience. It's getting too goofy and still makes little sense week to week.

Really solid show, I thought, crappy music aside.

-Love to see Hurricane out there, but I'll miss him on Smackdown in the Cruiserweight Division and his mini-feud with Matt Hardy.

-I liked the increased importance put on the "other wrestlers on RAW". Booker, Goldust, Bubba, all did a good job with their increased spotlight.

-Say all you want about politics and what have you, HHH showed all kinds of ass (except his actual, physical ass) tonight. From getting his ass kicked by an "injured" RVD and Bubba frickin' Dudley of all people to taking two shots through a table tonight (I know it was only SUPPOSED to be one, but you, me, and the fans in the arena all saw him go through twice).
Pair that with the fact that he was in just a few short segments and that Bubba ripped him in a promo, and you have to wonder what we're all bitching about.

-I thought Dreamer/Nowinski was fun, but I'm probably the only one.

-After giving him the super-intro, the crowd died when Orton came out, and he really didn't have a fantastic match either. They were probably hoping for Crash Holly to come back.

-The only good thing about Union Underground's performance (and I actually like the song) was Stacy.

Thats about it, but all in all, it was really a pretty good show from my point of view. Any time it can get me to stop my working and make me lose track of time, I'm a happy man. I hate work.

I can't believe I actually liked a segment with Tommy "The Suckass" Dreamer in it, guess Nowinski can already carry a slug to an interesting segment.

And it does let Nowinski take time off to get that jaw surgery he needs.

I thought this was show was a strong effort. It was tons better than a couple of weeks ago. Even the T'n'A segment was infinitely more tolerable than 'HLA'. And plenty of actual wrestling to suit me (and even the Dreamer/Nowinski segment, while technically a backstage one, had enough action to please me). A show of this caliber every week will be plenty enough to make me a happy customer.

I enjoyed Dreamer/Nowinski because it's fun to watch hardcore action when there are actually things handy to use as improvised weapons, rather than having to drag stop signs and aluminum foil garbage cans out from under the ring. Bring back boiler room brawls!

And I admit I wondered if the previous owner of that skeleton hanging in the classroom ever thought, "Hey, after I'm dead, I really hope my bones get shattered in a backstage brawl on a wrestling show..."

When JR said "blue chipper" about Randy Orton, I cringed. I like Orton and all, but with that kind of pimping going on, Orton would have had to pull out a ***** match to live up to it -- instead of the adequate but unremarkable performance he gave. If JR keeps talking like he's the living incarnation of wrestling every time he has a match, it's going to backfire quickly ... not unlike a certain other time back in the day.

I agree with Excalibur -- this was a night when they actually gave the mid- and lower card stuff to do and angles to play out, and the show was the stronger for it.

Overall, a decent show with a few mildly interesting possibilities down the line. I'll happily take it over the crappy Raws we've had in extremely recent memory.

Yet another Raw that felt flat. How long can they go on like this?

-NOW We (literally) Go To School!: If Chris Harvard has to be out for a couple of weeks, this was the perfect way to send him off. That cane shot was BRUTAL! Kudos to Mr. Harvard, who's making a much bigger name for himself than rival Maven.

-Bubba's In The Main Event!!: HEY! It's MY post and I'll say whatever I want!! I'll even overlook that botched table spot. Of course, I'm saddened that he WILL job to PoocHHHie. Everybody else does these days.

-Jericho/Goldust: Goldust's career continues to show new signs of life with another good outing. He's really coming into his own. He's BETTER hope they don't separate him from Booker anytime soon, because the minute they do, his heat will DIE!

-Hurrah for Buildup: I won't mind seeing Booker T and Goldust take on the Island Boyz at all and this is the chance for the Samoans to prove themselves. I definitely like it that they're actually PLANNING AHEAD!

-Union Underground: Divas cannot save this segment.

-PoocHHHie and Flair: Ric...PLEASE walk away! You can't even do your own Flair Flip properly anymore! And you aren't helping yourself by being PoocHHHie's lapdog. Stop bringing back bad memories of the Team Package days!

-Rico's Push Killed Dead: what's the point of putting Rico over cleanly against Flair last week if he's just going to job cleanly to Booker the next week?

-Jumps R Us: Did you feel the WORLD GET LIT ON FIRE with the announcement of Randy Orton's jump?! BY GAWD, THE BALANCE OF POWER HAS SHIFTED!! BY GAWD, THIS IS ME BEING SARCASTIC! And what the hell's the point of moving Hurricane to Raw? I mean, I'm happy that he's a tag champion as opposed to jobbing on Velocity hell, but why move one of the most over guys in the CW division?

Those are my gripes. What are yours?

I thought tonight's show was damn good. It looked as if everyone was trying to make an effort to put on a good show, from the writers to the wrestlers. Past shows seemed like they were throwing a lot of ideas on the wall and hoping that something would stick. Tonight, it seemed as if they actually gave time to think the show through and it paid off.

They made certain to utilize everyone on the main RAW roster. Everyone had something to do tonight and they all did a good job pulling it off.

-Kudos to the WWE for giving Jeff Hardy to the Big Show tonight. Dude sells for Rosie & Jamal for two weeks; Booker T. kicks their asses twice tonight. Nice to see him dominating someone to get his heat back.

-Loved the new acquisitions. Orton and Hurricane is a good shot of youth into the arm of the RAW roster. I feel bad for Orton though... JR gives him a sugary intro and the crowd falls asleep on his match. Hurricane comes in, no JR intro, with all the fanfare and wins the Tag Team Title.

-Not sure about Kane's new comedic dimension, but the WWE does think that FACE = FUNNY. It will be interesting to see how his teaming up with Hurricane goes. Seems fun though.

-Bubba stepped up tonight and I look forward to him being a thorn in HHH's side. Enjoyed the tag match they had tonight.

-Backstage promos were all good to me. There weren't too many and they actually concluded in the ring, not in some backstage crap.

I think part of the problem is that not many people really care about Randy Orton. Of all the new aquisitions, he's probably the most bland.

Though John Cena is rapidly moving up that ladder.

My thoughts:

Women's Title Match

It could be me, but it seems like Victoria's actually pretty good! It's about time they found a female wrestler who can actually wrestle, other than Trish and Molly.

Booker T and Goldust making fun of Bischoff

I thought this segment was funnier than hell, especially the poster of Bischoff with Rikishi's ass glued to Bischoff's head. The Fozzy joke by Goldust was great, too. Of course, this segment would have ramipercussions for both men later in the night.

Booker T confronted by Bischoff

I thought it was great that Booker T was still laughing when he was called out by Bischoff, and continued to insult him to his face. I find it especially interesting on an insider level, because for many years Bischoff was pushing the Hogans and the Savages while the hard workers like Booker T, Benoit and Jericho were lingering in the mid-card. Anyway. Nice to see they're finally doing something with Jamal and Rosey, also.

Jeff Hardy vs. The Big Show

Hardy didn't look as whacked up on something as he did last week, but he still wasn't looking good. Maybe that's just his style, I don't know. Anyway... good to see The Big Show get the win here, because Jeff is really starting to piss me off.

Don't Mess With a Harvard Graduate

See this, Tommy? It's Singapore! Where this cane is from! HA! I have to say, I liked this segment-- particularly because I didn't expect to see Nowinski at all for the next 4-6 weeks because of his injury.

Randy Orton vs. Steven Richards

Pretty good match, although I'm not yet convinced that Orton deserved the verbal blowjob treatment that he got from Ross. That was quite overboard. Sure, the kid has potential, but right now, potential is all it is. He hasn't shown me anything that sets him apart from anyone else, save a pretty sweet dropkick.

Why, Ric, Why?

Ric's story was a slight stretch for me-- why should he give a damn about how well Triple H does?-- but trying to prove that he hasn't lost it, I can buy that. The interference of RVD, Triple H and Bubba Ray Dudley was pretty good, and set up a sweet payoff in the main event.

Interjerichotinental Championship Match

I quite enjoyed this match. It's nice to see Jericho finally string a few wins together, too. And more people are tapping to the Walls of Jericho-- nice.

Stand back! There's a new Tag Team Champion coming through!

I marked out when The Hurricane came out as Kane's new partner. I marked out even more when the new team became the new Tag Team Champions! Whoo!

RVD and Bubba vs. Trips and Ric

Damn, looks like Bubba suffered an arm injury during the match. The payoff to the match was great, though-- Trips goes through a table! WHOO!

raw was nothing special tonight.. a couple of bland but inoffensive matches (orton - richards, jericho - goldust, womens three-way) and an alright match (tag title match), but that's all i really got out of the whole deal. i missed most of the main event tag match because i was watching a movie, but what i saw was just whatever. the dreamer - nowinski segment was pretty cool, i was digging it. the bischoff - island boyz crap i could have lived without, and rico vs booker t.. i forgot it happened a minute after i saw it. so over-all.. nothing bad, but i forgot half of what happened until i read this thread.

oh, and i FINALLY remembered what i've been meaning to point out for the past couple of months: steven richards' theme music is a DIRECT RIP-OFF of the song "love dump" by static-x. YES I FINALLY SAID IT.

one more bit of note:
" reports that Bubba Ray Dudley injured his arm during the main event of RAW. No other details are currently available on the injury."

oooh quite a blow to bubba ray.

Is that really a fair statement? Maven's hurt. I remember him being more over (and much, MUCH more entertaining) than Nowinski when he was healthy. Put it this way, I only liked the Dreamer/Nowinski segment because I got to see that boring loser get his ass-kicked.

And I liked him on Tough Enough. This Harvard character sucks, it's annoying...and not in the cool 'this guy's a good heel' way, it's a 'man, I wanna change the channel' way.

Anyway, all in all, I liked Raw, but I've liked just about everything they've done lately, so my opinion probably isn't valued much around here.

Speaking of musical rip-offs, has anyone else noticed that Taker's new music is the same as Bischoff's current theme, just different lyrics? Take a listen.
