Second, rumblings of UPN picking up Farscape.
Both longshots, but boy would they be fun. Promote this thread! | | A-MOL

I can see Mrs Prinze Jr. disappearing in about 2-3 years then. Surely such a move would require The Love Of My Life turning down the huge interest she is getting from Hollywood these days.
I'm still recoving from watching Jay and Silent Bob again this weekend. Thank god DVD's do not wear out, or that scene with Shannon Elizabeth and TLOML in leather suits would be unwatchable by now. | Torchslasher

That, and the fact that SMG knows that she can just stick to motion pictures, and the fact that Eliza and Alyson could probably as well equals a short life for Buffy. It's the same curse that befit My So Called Life when rumors had it that Claire Danes made rumblings that she didn't want to come back and continue doing the show (because of her then burgeoning film career). | vsp

Which, in retrospect, was almost as high on the Unfortunate-Career-Decision-o-Meter as when David Caruso tried it.

| #6 Posted on 23.9.02 1330.10 Reposted on: 23.9.09 1331.49 | Yeah, but she had some "next big actress" buzz at that point, thanks to her work on that show. What followed it? The car crash that was "Romeo & Juliet," the hokey rerelease of "Les Miserables" (not that the scrambled script was her fault, I'll grant), "Brokedown Palace" (i.e. Midnight Express without the interesting bits) and the "Mod Squad" remake (which speaks for itself). BANG, she HAD a career...
One could argue that her strongest contribution to American cinema so far has been voicework for "Princess Mononoke," and even that had the usual batch of otaku grumbling.

Yeah but those are the same type of people who whined about Summerslam, some geeks are NEVER happy. All star cast and Neil FUCKING Gaiman does the script and people STILL bitch? Whatever.
Buffy only has one more Gellar guranteed year, and quite frankly, I'd watch Eliza read the phone book. | Zeruel

It kind of was, but it had such great critical acclaim that ABC was probably going to renew it for another season, or at least a midseason replacement. I liken it to Once and Again, a show that never really got good ratings but survived for three years (could have been two) by critical acclaim alone (and it really only got cancelled because ABC kept flip-flopping its timeslot and night around).

I love Eliza, but she has to pick better roles (like Katie Holmes). For every Jay and Silent Bob, Eliza gives us The New Guy and Soul Survivors (SS was especially awful). | Quezzy

But see, if she was drawing a regular paycheck from the UPN she would have the stability to pick and choose more in her roles.

The best scene in the New Guy, one of the best scenes in movie history, had to be the bikini modeling scene :) | A-MOL

Eh, my oinly exposure to MSCL was on MTV's replays. Back when they picked up good shows instead of the steaming piles of crap they produce in-house. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
