I'm really sick of the hip-hop industry right now. And I'm getting more and more inclined to NOT pick up any Rap cd's for awhile, until this constant lebel dropping ceases.

It's tired. Why can't artists be artists and rap about something OTHER than their label. That'd be like Stephen King dropping off random shadouts to Simon and Shuster (!) Barnes and Noble (!) and B. Dalton (!) in the middle of "The Gunslinger" for no reason.

That and most of the artists who do it, are usually good artists to start, drop their label occasionally on a first albulm, but by the fourth they don't have anymore ideas so they just rap about their label.

And it comes off as REALLY bootleg and shitty. I mean, they took the time out of their song about endless love or the way they were to mention their fuckin' LABEL!? WHY!?

Ja Rule and Jay-Z can go to hell along with their respective labels Murdah Inc. and Rockafella. PERIOD. I'll be happy with my supply of Jurassic 5 and Ol' Dirty (who does rap about Wu-Tang, but on his singles stuff it's not the focus of his songs).

Dude, Hip hop is dying a slow and painful death,
much like hair metal did in the late 80's.

(Beating CRZ to the punch)

Shouldn't this be in the music forum? (where I could safely ignore it)

But if it wasn't for the Rap/Hip-Hop subculture and its lingo that filters down to today's young people, I wouldn't have friends who say to me "Bizzle Izzle, what's the dizzle ma nizzle?" and therefore wouldn't have this boss username.
