They are finally showing a more darker more pressure image to Tony Soprano and his Mob world. It should be an interesting season as the Uncle gets ready to goto court and Tony showing his power to get money and not to mention the FEDS. Should be an interesting season. | Promote this thread! | | Enojado Viento

Still seemed they should have developed Paulie in jail instead of having him make a phone call to explain it. Also, at least they should have found a better rationale for Tony to put his faith in his nephew. The kids a screw-up for 3 years, then all of a sudden Tony realizes he is the only one he can trust? | CajunMan

Actually if you saw next week's previews, Meadow comes back in the storyline. I think she quit college. | PeterStork

| #5 Posted on 16.9.02 1851.18 Reposted on: 16.9.09 1851.24 | This was probably the best episode since the first season, though it lacks the coolness of last year's premiere and the Every Breath You Take/Peter Gunn Theme Megamix they used while the FBI tried to sneak into casa de Soprano.
That said, I can't wait for Chris & Adrianna to find out about the FBI plant. There's something about that plot thread that intrigues me.
Oh, and we want MORE MEADOW~!
P.S. Why is this under "CRZ's World", not "Random"? Though I could be wrong, I don't remember Our Lovely Host going on about The Sopranos.
(EDIT) Well, apparently that was taken care of.

Long as she's not in EVERY EPISODE I can deal with it. She's sorta like Stephanie McMahon with a more annoying voice and less character development.
I realise Meadow has her fans, but uhm. . .it's been three seasons, and she's still a whiny brat. Even Richie Aprile developed as a character and he only had a season to do so.

I have a (hopeful) feeling that we'll be seeing Miss Meadow turning towards the dark side. Wasn't the boss of the family in Italy (from Season 1) a woman? Could we see a Meadow power trip down the line? She did have that little spiel to her friends about "loyalty" after Jackie's funeral last season. Hmmm... | OlFuzzyBastard

I dunno.. . maybe soon. . .they've been leading towards it since the end of Season 2 really. Matter of fact I was sure that it would happen last season.

The show does not revolve around Tony Soprano, it revolves around the man, the myth, the legend; thats right, Shane Douglas. Now, Paulie ends up getting picked up on a pilgrimage to the birthplace of Dean Martin, not the singer, but a combination of Dean Douglas and Troy Martin. Maybe he can use this fame to get a match in the NWA against Screech. | SKLOKAZOID

Those two are the cornerstone mafia stereotypes they need to give the Soprano family character/credibility with the audience. Hell, just look at the guy. You know exactly who he is immediately upon seeing him for the first time.
Paulie's character is just too likeable to get rid of. Although, I will say that his real strength was in his loyalty that they built up in the earlier seasons, so they seem to be doing away with that. Not sure if I like that, but the prison scenes could turn out to be really good.
His storyline does look to go in the direction of him breaking ties and getting whacked, though, but I really hope it doesn't end up that way. | jfkfc

I actually thought that last season's "Pine Barrens" episode was one of the best.
I thought this one was kinda lame, although I heard Furio gets killed. Maybe it has something to do with Carmella checking herself out in the oven reflection before going to get the door for Chris (she was expecting Furio). I also heard an idea that maybe Chris would get killed, and since his grandmother is Carmella's aunt (them being family), she leaves Tony.
What was the deal with the older guy (in the hotel suite before the chicks came in) saying "he couldn't have been at your pool party because he don't wear shorts", or something like that.
There are characters who I had no idea who they were (like that dude who watches over Junior) until I saw the "family tree":

I think the line about not wearing shorts was Tony must have been wearing shorts at a pool party, which to the older members of the 'family' as beneath that of the leader of the family. The leader of the family should be viewed at all times as a symbol of power and fear, not some middle aged guy wearing shorts and doing cannonballs in a pool. | | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
