On Sept 12th the president is set to speak with the General Assembly in hopes of getting support for the proposed invasion of Iraq most countries want an UN resolution before they commit to an invation http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/in_depth/2240570.stm I don't see Bush getting any support for this from the UN even with a good speech. If we take action alone on this it looks to the world and to me like a Bush is solving an old vendetta.

Does anybody know the current approval rating of this proposed invasion in OUR country? I can't recall a single person I've talked to about it really liking the idea of invading Iraq. This is both Liberals and Conservatives that I know.
But I'm always out of touch with the common man in the country, so who knows what the pollsters show.

Depending on who's conducting the polls, you can get any results you want, but one I saw last week has support for another war in Iraq at 39% - an astonshingly low number, considering this country's always in favor of bombing people, especially Hussein.
And, considering the whole war's about public relations, there's a decent chance that could be enough to prevent it entirely, although I kind of doubt it.
