I recently found the stories "Time And The Rani", and "Paradise Towers" on Kazaa, which is good, since the Sylvester McCoy time period was by far my favorite. (Though Tom Baker is a quick runner up.)

I was wondering if aside from Kazaa, anyone knew of any other sources to find shows? I'm looking specifically for Delta And The Bannermen, Remebrance Of The Daleks, and The Greatest Show In The Galaxy.

Any help is MUCH appreciated!

Warner Home Video now has the North American license for Doctor Who (CBS/Fox having been the previous licensee).

April 2, 2002 - "Remembrance of the Daleks" (Catalog #E1183) will be released on DVD. (The DVD includes the following goodies: commentary by Sylvester McCoy (The Doctor) and Sophie Aldred (Ace); deleted scenes; trailers; optional text production commentary via the subtitles; isolated synchronous music soundtrack; two multi-angle sequences (one of Ace attacking a Dalek with a baseball bat and the other of the gate explosion sequence); a photo gallery. They had to remove the Beatles songs from the (stereo!) soundtrack due to the expiration of legal rights for using them; they also spiffied up some of the special effects (but not too much - this is the BBC ).)

There is a VHS videotape version of "Remembrance Of The Daleks" available, but only as part of "The Daleks Limited Edition Box Set" (Catalog #E1145), which includes the Hartnell-era serial "The Chase". I'd wait for the DVD - I am .

June 4, 2002 - "Delta and the Bannermen" (Catalog #E1649) will be released on VHS videotape. (Difficulties obtaining music clearances significantly delayed the release of this serial.)

"The Greatest Show In The Galaxy" (Catalog #E1494) should already be available on VHS videotape - it's just a matter of looking. The BBC America Shop (www.bbcamericashop.com) has it available for $12.98; Amazon.com has it for $12.95. (To be complete, Amazon.com has the above-mentioned "Daleks Limited Edition Box Set" for $17.93 - but I'd still wait for the DVD.)

Steph (who was more a Tom Baker fan)

You used to be able to get some video's through a Douglas Adams related site (he wrote a lot of the Tom Baker shows), but that may have changed since his death.

Check out www.drwho.org and http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/doctorwho/dvdvideo/index.shtml if you haven't already, they have some links to where you can buy some videos aside from Amazon.com and BN.com.

And myself, I found Colin Baker very amusing, but Tom Baker was just perfect for the role.

To be specific, Douglas Adams provided the scripts for "The Pirate Planet", "City Of Death", and the ill-fated "Shada". Adams also served as script editor during Season Seventeen (Destiny Of The Daleks/City Of Death/The Creature From The Pit/Nightmare Of Eden/The Horns Of Nimon/Shada), which happens to be one of my favorite seasons.

I was amused, while pricing stuff in Best Buy today, to see a DVD box set with the Peter Cushing movies and a documentay about the popularity of the Daleks.

Personally, I never dug the Daleks. I preferred the Cybermen over them. Of course, the Master (both versions) are tops in my book.

City of Death has to be my favorite Dr. Who tape.

Also, I have a replica Tom Baker-era scarf that my grandma knitted for me many moons ago. It keeps me quite warm.

I'm a fan of Patrick Troughton myself... but then, maybe I'm just too much of an old-school fan.

I was listening to Howard Stern today, and they had this tickling guy named Yaqi on, and during his segment, they played the Tom Baker era Dr. Who theme. It was cool.

Was that to try to make the sci-fi-oriented members of the listening audience think that Yaqi was in fact the *Yeti* (a Troughton-era enemy)?

I actually have an autographed 8x10 of his I got right before his death. He was as entertaining in person as on tv...
