What about the goon who got killed at the end of the episode?

They spend so much time talking about the rapist getting killed that he almost should count.

You know how we were talking about them writing this 8 hours at a time? Just reading last week's recap on MBTV (they make me feel good about fooling around) of the first episode of the second part (the second 8 hours) and probably not concidentally, the first time they brought up the whole "Kiefer's mission two years ago that we're afriad of talking about."

So I guess they really do write it like that, and maybe we shouldn't be expecting them to pick up loose ends from previous times? But then not-Alan York and all, so I dunno. Just intersting, at any rate.

Hahaha, writings storylines over 8 shows, why does that sound familiar.

I thought I read that they wrote until 2 PM all at one point, then wrote the end later.

ely, i believe...who always seemed to be withing earshot whenever ira needed him.

when jack shot ted and propped up his dead body in the limo, was i the only one who was thinking we were headed into weekend at bernie's?

I forget to reply here after I saw the show, so now I'm sure I'll forget something I wanted to say.

The action sequence was swell - fun, exciting, and all the cliches we know and love:
- Narrow escape from capture, by seconds
- Kid who (we assume?) never shot a gun is as good, if not better, than the hired goons.
- 20 to 2 shootout won by the 2.
- Someone gets shot, but They Won't Be Left Behind

The shot where Rick's all about to take the van and turning the key and the Boss pops in the window was quite awesome.

What else? Um, there's absolutely postively no way that the Cheif Of Staff isn't in on that killing, is there? I just hope the voice mail got blown up too, or Palmer just went from a murder victim to a muder suspect.

I wonder how Keith is going to feel about his dad (that's the way he'll see it) having his psychitrist healed - I don't think that'll smooth things over.

The most hilarous thing was when Tony was about to confess that he was a split-second away from selling out Nina and Jack, and Nina interupts him to thank him for not selling them out. That's a spot right out Fraiser, except we won't have to deal with the 'wacky' mishaps because of it.

Did they fire Milo? I didn't see him in the opening shot when they had the whole CTU together and Alberta didn't think to question HIM about what was going on with Jack.

I can't think of anything else to talk about. I didn't tape it, but if I did I'd like to go back and check over the CTU scenes (I think) again, because one of the TV screens it said "Special report" and I wondered if that's about the plane crash.

Hey, do you think they brought up "we don't know how the fake photographer got the ID" angle because they're gonna go back to it? I thought it was tied up but it'd be neat. Just waiting for the fake Martin to show back up.

Oh yeah - for all that "two years ago" talk last week, they sure didn't bring it up this week.

BTW, DON'T READ THE CANADA (maybe it was Toronto - it's linked on the TVBarn page) SUN 24 ARTICLE IF YOU WANT TO STAY SPOILER FREE.

That is all.

They brought up that 2 years ago angle twice last week, and not once this week. That was kind of strange. I thought it was pretty cool when Jack drew where he was on his Palm Pilot and it showed up right on the screen the new head of CTU (Angelica? Angela?) was looking at. Wow, we are halfway there. I really hope that Teri and Kim get to go home soon, and we start to get Jack maybe solving this whole thing. But the way things are going, with the whole "Everything bad that's happened has been because we are apart" thing, it's probably not going to happen.

I don't feel like writing a long post now BUT I can't go a minute longer without saying, very very very loudly:

RICK IS THE BIGGEST MORON IN THE WHOLE WORLD

Did I miss the explaination of that? Good lord is he a moron. MORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRON.

Also, seeing the "next week" bit where Tony and Sen. Palmer talk feels like one of those "the people from the Practice on Ally!" crossovers (except something I want to see), even though everyone's on the same show, at least in spirit.

Agreed. Rick is an idiot. He sure is lucky to have found a bus stop out in the boonies, though. And was it just me, or did Kim turn into a complete idiot last night, too? "Oh let's just walk out into the open field! There's no one out there!" BANG BANG!

I thought last night's show was pretty ho-hum, compared to last couple of ACTION-PACKED episodes. The two things I really liked were:

1) Teri getting herself and Kim lost in the woods. It was nice to see her character behave more realistically than being super tough-as-nails mom. Every predicament she's been in she has remained completely calm, cool, and collected, and I thought it was a nice touch for her to lose that cool for a moment.

2) Palmer' finally comes to grips with the fact that he's just a puppet. How does someone so virtuous and idealistic become a senator anyway? I've been waiting for him to ride into a scene on a white horse.

One more random thought -- Teri really needs to lose that gawdawful sweater.

Things I thought while watching!

Nice to see Milo (and Patty the campaign worker!) is gainfully employed this week. I was wondering why he was around just to have two lines, though.

Funny that it took Nina about 20 seconds to walk from room to room in the hosiptal the first two times we saw her do it, but when there's a mysterious man on the loose, it takes all of a commerical break - and then she stopped to make a phone call. What was that about? Wasn't she worried about something? I guess she doesn't REALLY care if Teri dies, considering.

Anyway, nice that they're mixing up the actor combinations - it's good to have different people interact.

They use the most generic, non-time specfic video for the "every moment counts" bumpers.

I like how Drazen could care less about Gaines is dead. Anyway, that's an effective way of cleaning up old loose ends. Great work on the ending shot in that scene.

All that water, you'd think Jack would need to go at some time.

Did they mention that Tony was responible for the lockdown before? I don't remember. Anyway, nice build off of Tony's near admission of a couple episodes ago. What was with the red room, too?

Teri better not be preganant (because pregancy angles suck) but it's nice that she's no dummy and sees right through Nina's "everything is FINE, we just need to leave NOW" act.

I *knew* Palmer wouldn't show up till the last few seconds, I hate when they include things like that in the preview.

Kinda slow, building episode. I guess every episode can't have a shoot out. Weird that they didn't even include a fifteen second "Rick on the Bus!" shot, though.

I've heard he's had that on his desk all "day", they've just taken more shots of it as the show's gone for whatever reason.

I believe it's proof that Tony's a good guy (no matter how much you might think early, especially early on) because I couldn't see a Cubs fan turning out to be a dirty evil traitor.

OR Tony's a fan of [slash] and he's saying hi. Hi!

What was my point again? If they really are writing in 8 hour blocks, shouldn't we be building to a climax (or a plot twist) two episodes from now? Doesn't feel that way.

Yes ... that is way too cheesy. A super cheap way to cement the family reunion. If all the kidnapping and near-death experiences didn't do it, nothing will.

All in all, another lack-luster episode. At least the story's two forks are finally coming together, which should really make the end fun.
