What an improvement Bubba Franks has made since his rookie season. Hopefully he can keep being the type of option Packer QBS have taken advantage of over the years....Paul Coffman...Harris....Jackson....Mr.Hottub...all of them were great pass-catchers...

Either he's developing a bit of a tenacious streak, or he's becoming a whiner. He's made a fair amount of noise about wanting to be more of the offense, not just an "inside the 20" type of guy. He understands that it was the TDs that got him to the Pro Bowl, but he wants to do more between the 20s.

Good for him. Given the uncertainty at the wideout position, we need whatever production we get from him.

Tightends can be used for more than redzone situation.Just look at the Titans own Frank Wycheck,he's used everywhere and he leads the team in receptions every year. He's the most reliable receiver we have.

I'm so sorry to hear that (j/k)

seriously though, Bubba has shown excellent work and great progress in the offseason. The only question is whether or not he fits into Packer offense as well. The Steelers TE (whose name eludes me) is a great reciever (or was in college), but he does not fit into the Steelers offense as a reciever. Which sucks

Here's hoping that Bubba fits better.

he's only a good TE because of the great coaching he got at Maryland...i am still mad that the Skins let him go when they had him....

Bubba was known throughout his college career as having very soft hands. Most receivers, in their first couple of years in a West Coast offense, have difficulty in picking up all of the different plays and terminologies. It is much easier to start a tight end out inside the 20 and then as he gets more comfortable and capable within the offense to move him outside the 20.

Bubba's darn effective in the red zone. I just hope we can get one of our other TEs to compliment him, a'la Keith Jackson and American Chewy in '96. Hell, I don't think Tyrone Davis has done a damn thing since his TD and Lambeau Leap RIGHT BETWEEN ME AND ANOTHER PHOTOGRAPHER vs. the Jets in 2000 (which we lost).

If not...I'll be optimistic that our WR situation will pan out. Gotta believe Terry Glenn can turn face under that benevolent Packer influence, just like Andre Rison in '96.
