A quick perusal of the Wiener of the Day list turns up *fifty* - a 5 and a 0 after it - winners who have either 0 posts or 1 post to their names here. That's quite a few, though it clearly follows, given the number of non-posters & one-timers there are on the Ranking lists. I am simultaneously pleased there is TRUE RANDOMNESS (har har), and irritated that people who never talk have been honored (sometimes twice) as WsOTD. I am truly torn...ah, the duality of man...

I think you have to be registered for at least three months before you can start WHINING.

I'll keep that in mind.

For when I'm actually whining, at least.

Why are people so concerned about the Wiener of the Day?

Why not be concerned about WOTDay-ness? It beats being concerned about, oh, I don't know, wrestling or something.

Speaking of wiener-related things, has anyone made any suggestions regarding the "active wieners" thing? I mean, I see how active is descriptive in that regard, but just below it is 'freshest wiener', which is gimmicked, whereas active isn't. Now, I've never been in a real Wienerville restaurant, so maybe there's some good reason for it. However, would "Rolling wieners" work, or do they not have the little set-ups that the Speedways & 7-11s have to keep their wieners fresh? Have they, as a more reputable wiener-serving establishment, designed a better wiener-freshener, so to speak? The closest thing we have to a Wienerville in the South is Sandy's, and I can't remember the last time I ordered a hot dog there (I usually just get their boss ice cream).

I think that's the most I've used wiener at one time.

There, I did it again. Wiener wiener wiener.

At gas stations/convenience stores where they serve hot dogs, they have those holders for them where the wieners roll on little metal rollers and are heated, ostensibly to keep them fresher or warmer or more edible (like you're going to get a good 'dog there anyway). I know you know what I'm talking about when I mention those.

If new registrations are 'fresh' wieners, then I am curious as to why we're not all gimmicked into One Big Hot Dog Roller. Thus, on the main page, where it says "730 active wieners / Freshest wiener: JoeYakbreath", could it not say "730 rolling wieners" instead? To me, it just pairs better with "freshest". As I say, though, I've never been inside a Wienerville restaurant, so I don't know if they have the rollers or not. I'm guessing they're a Left Coast phenomenon (unless someone else on the East wants to correct me), so I suppose it would be up to one of you out there to scope out one of the places and find out whether or not my suggestion even applies.

That, or I'm taking this much farther than I really should.

Are you telling me there's an actual restaurant called Wienerville? Where are they from? West Coast?

I think he means Wienerschnitzel, the place that the sign is ripped off from.

Ah, that's it - I knew of a Wienerville TV show, but wasn't entirely sure there was a restaurant named exactly Wienerville. But the sign had to come from somewhere...and it still begs the question, are their wieners rolling? I have a feeling they are, what with being a chain and all. Their "friendship is a corn dog" picture on the corporate site is a riot, like something out of the Brak Show or Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey.
