Like hot peppers, salsas, sauces and spices? As in REALLY hot?

Do you use Tabasco sauce like most people use ketchup?

Want to see food additives that are so super-concentrated that you can't buy them without signing a waiver form first, so that they don't get sued if you hospitalize someone with them?

Then visit the online presence of Peppers, the best damn hot-sauce shop I know of here.

(I have no financial or other interest in the site or shop; I just visit it whenever I'm on vacation, and it's too good not to share. I'm enjoying one of their chipotle salsas as I speak -- one of their many products that is mild enough for mere mortals to consume, too.)

Since we are posting up pepper ads... I have a request.

Has anyone ever heard of a product called Cherry Hot Shots - they are a pepper that is stuffed and jarred in olive oil. I had an ex-girlfriend with family in Vineland, NJ and they used to get these there. I can't find any place to get them from.

//edit:

According to an FDA inspection page, I think the company I'm looking for is:

2249075
20020 M

NEW CHERRY HOT SHOTS, INC.
215 NORTH MILL ROAD
VINELAND
NJ
08362
6095079119

Of course, then there is this: from some agri site for NJ...

NEW CHERRY HOT SHOTS - Broker
191 Weymouth Road
Hammonton, NJ 08037
(609) 561-9900 FAX (609) 561-9975
Mailing Address: PO Box 825, Vineland, NJ 08362
Sales Contact: R. Fabrizio, Bob Readding
Brand Name: "Hot Shots", "Banana Shots", "Jalapeno Shots"
Years in Business: 3
All Gourmet Stuffed Peppers

Anyone in NJ have a local store that carries these? I'll buy 'em mail order... they are damn good.

Never heard of it Guru, but I have a friend who is really into peppers and the likes and he has a pretty good handle on the local distributors. I'll talk to him tomorrow on AIM while I'm at work and ask if he knows of any place to get them.

Try the phone number for the web site I linked to. Their brick-and-mortar store carries a hell of a lot more than is listed on the online site -- if they don't have it, I'm sure they've heard of it.

The store is in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, which is a quick trip on the Cape May-Lewes Ferry away from the Jersey shore. I live near Philly, so I'll dig around the local specialty stores as well.

Wow! Talk about good timing...

I'm going to Dewey Beach(5 minutes from Rehoboth) on Friday for a short vacation. Since I normally take a trip to the outlets in Rehoboth, I'll look for this Peppers store while I'm there. :)

Granted, I haven't had a whole lot of hot peppers, but I have never had them as hot as those from my garden.
This year I started small 8x8 garden in my backyard and grew tomatoes and stuff. The peppers really took off - chilis and serranos - and man, they will blow the top out of your skull. You can't beat them in salsas and omelettes.
Growing habaneros next year...if you hear an explosion from Oklahoma, it's just my nose.

Serranos rock. I use seven or eight in my favorite chili recipe (no salt-loaded chili powder, strictly fresh peppers). The local supermarkets all carry them, they're a step up from jalapenos heat-wise, yet they're flavorful enough to be tasty even when I neuter them (cut out the seeds and veins) so that my wife'll eat my cooking.

Habaneros are too hot for me, though, except in minute quantities as part of sauces. Six figures on the Scoville scale can drop cows at ten paces. I prefer to stay in that jalapeno-chipotle-serrano-cayenne range.

Just got back from vacation and found that the heat wave and dry spell here in NJ has done wonders for my Jalapenos, Cayennes and Banana Peppers - my hot cherry peppers haven't fared well since the night time attack of the marauding raccoons - my habaneros are finally starting to show some life and a few late blooms....and now my question - what the hell do you do with a banana pepper ? My 4 year old daughter wanted to plant them this year and they are growing like weeds - a great yellow orange color to them. Does anyone here grow them or cook with them ? Thanks.

As a lover of hot peppers as well, my question is: what, if anything, can be done to avoid that excruciating pain(complete with tears and praying to multiple gods) which happens the next morning?

From the same company that makes the hot cherry peppers that I am looking for (Hey, you are in Jersey - go look for me ) -- the only banana peppers I have had that I liked were stuffed with cream cheese and pepperoni. They sell these in a jar filled with Olive oil or something like that. They are pretty good.

My sentence structure in this post is assy.

I stopped by that Peppers place in Rehoboth this afternoon. Sorry Guru, no luck for your Cherry Hot Shots. The girls running the counter were of no help, so I tried looking for myself to no avail.

There is some good news however...The WCW and nWo hot sauces are on sale at 50% off! DDP(w/long hair) is on the WCW label and Buff Bagwell is on the nWo label.

And vsp: That place is pretty cool. Loved the sampling counter with about 100 different sauces available for testing.

My banana peppers taste almost exactly like bell peppers, so I use them as a substitute. I put them in salsa, marinara and fajitas. AH YEAH
