Ok, so the game should have been over except for a guy tripping over himself at the line of scrimmage...
Man, can Flutie screw up a little more in the clutch? I didn't see him in Buffalo, can anyone who did compare? Are our other guys that bad, or is Flutie slowly losing a step (or three)?

Flutie's an average quarterback that's always been overrated because his story about being old and short is a cute one to tell, with his overcoming the odds and winning a Heisman in 1963 and then dominating the CFL for 47 years until finally making it back to the NFL. He's a crock and I'm glad he's faltering.
But I bet he's a great guy.

When he left Calgary there were lots of stories from teammates about how much of a loner he was and how tight he was with his money. Example: I guess it is a tradition for QBs to take their offensive linemen out for a big meal or two during the season. The guy in the limelight showing his appreciation to the grunts who are watching his back during the game and whatnot. Well I guess ol' Doug never rubbed shoulders with the grunts, and the poor guys went hungry. Not a big deal? The average lineman in the CFL makes about $50,000 a season (Cdn.) -- about $32,000 US. Doug made $1,000,000 a season -- when you have that many zeros in your contract it doesn't matter if it's Canadian or US.
But I am a fan of his work on the field. He is an exciting quarterback who brings life to any game he plays in. Unfortunately, when his team is struggling like the Chargers are, he tries to do too much himself and screws up. This is a mortal sin in the "win at any cost even if it's a 6-3 final score snoozer" attitude of the NFL.
