Once again I can't wait to mark out for Shannon Moore! I like the shows better when there is less "writing" and more wrestling. hope the trend continues. Raw listen up, the 20 minute promos are back but need to go away again. (jericho talking is FINE, just keep it short and to the point.) | The Goon

A great show, far better than RAW. Couple things I liked:
Henry is starting to actually wrestle the way the world's strongest man would. I noticed this first against Brock, when he no-sold the clotheslines and they were equal on the lockup. if you are the world's strongest, certian things just are not going to work on you. Maybe put him in a tag team to disguise his slowness?
The 6-man was great, Angle's setup for Mysterio's spin-kick didn't look forced at all, it made sense that he would use that move based on where Angle was, if you see what I mean.
Heyman's talk to Brock about Hogan, about how he always comes back, and the way he was screaming at him during the match: "He's diffirent! Pin him! Finish him!" The look on Hogan's face when Brock shoved him down after the lockup was great, you could almost see the fear. I could see Brock in a movie as a great villain | LennyAaronRoxx

'Tonight's' show was actually taped last Sunday, so time-wise, anyone you saw on it had time to get down under. Rock did indeed go ahead to promote-- Rock remains THE MOST OVER MAN ON THE PLANET, for good or ill.

i just rewatched the show to dub that match onto my "random wwe matches from july/august" tape, and tazz called the move a swinging inverted powerbomb, while cole called it a belly-to-back sidewalk slam, which was actually more accurate that tazz's call. just thought i'd stick up for cole(!), cause i didn't think he was so annoying tonight.

Maybe it was just wishful thinking on my part...being a bit of an Angle mark. I'm really hoping for a Benoit/Angle series of matches, and I'm looking forward to some heat with Mysterio. The "just got pinned by a 12 year old" had to be my favorite line of the night.
I also liked the Hogan/Lesnar match as a whole, although I was bored with some parts. Lesnar's bearhugs are just UGLY...they look completely ineffective imho. But I'll admit to sitting up when Hogan didn't do the "finger wag" on the third arm drop! The beatdown brought back memories of King Kong Bundy's beatdown of the Hulkster before Wrestlemania from way back.
All in all....much, much, much more enjoyable show than Raw.

John Cena has a disease known as "Blue Chipper Syndrome". In laymen's terms, it's referred to as "a rookie babyface immediately getting a rocket shoved up his ass and getting pushed to the moon, whether the fans like it or not". Those that suffer from "Blue Chipper Syndrome" will immediate draw boos from all wrestling fans, no matter who the opponent is. Example: Angle is IMMENSELY over as a heel, but put him against "Blue Chipper" John Cena and Angle immediately becomes a de facto babyface.
Other victims inclue Watts, Erik; Bagwell, Marcus; and Maivia, Rocky. These three also suffered from the dreaded "Blue Chipper Syndrome" and were ostracized by wrestling fans.
"Blue Chipper Syndrome", however, is curable as demonstrated in the case of Rocky Maivia.

Angle has somewhat of a cult following (as well he should) and just about anyonehe's in there against will be booed by a very small but very vocal group, IMO. (I often hear very small "Rocky sucks" chants when he's wrestling Angle.) | tomvejada

There were 3 very good matches this week. Angle-Cena, The Future-Radicals2002,Angle, Hogan-Lesnar.
Angle had the line of the week: "I just got pinned by a friggin twelve-year-old."
Overall, one of the best shows this year. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
